In short
Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch is a specialty coffee and bakery café in Seocho, Seoul. I paired a decaf Helsinki Latte with a Victoria scone and a Dark S'more New York cookie. Verdict: a lovely stop when you want coffee without the caffeine overload.

The shop is small, but it has such a nice vibe 👍🏻

The Yangjae main branch was right by my home, and it’s a truly great café—the coffee and desserts are so good that it has grown to seven more branches in just a few years. There are lots of coffee and dessert options, and the signature menu item is the Helsinki Latte.

Helsinki Latte ordered decaf
I wanted decaf coffee that day, so I looked over the menu and ordered the Helsinki Latte! I love coffee, but decaf options feel especially welcome on days when caffeine feels like a bit much. It was the perfect choice for a day when I wanted to enjoy coffee comfortably at a Yangjae café :)

Bakery desserts I picked with my coffee
Coffee alone felt a little incomplete, so I picked out a dessert too. If you love scones, you naturally end up looking at the dessert menu whenever you visit a café, right? As I was choosing among the baked goods, the Victoria scone caught my eye, so I ordered it.

Mini Male Coffee Roasters had a wide selection of bakery desserts that pair well with coffee, so it was fun choosing according to my taste. Their babka is said to bring together brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts—a dessert that lets you enjoy the familiar flavor of hotteok (Korean filled pancake) in a different way.

Their signature handmade plain scone is seriously delicious with strawberry jam: crisp outside, soft inside :)

There were five kinds of handmade New York cookies: Dark S'more, Original Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Jam, Matcha Chocolate Chip Levain, and more! With so many varieties, you can choose one that suits your taste!

As you’d expect from a coffee specialist, they also sell coffee beans.

The Helsinki Latte and Victoria scone pairing
If you enjoy a smooth latte, I think the Helsinki Latte is worth trying. Its rich coffee flavor and the softness of milk came together beautifully, making it a great match for dessert too.

The Victoria scone was a dessert that went nicely with coffee, so it paired well with the latte. In particular, if you like the mild, nutty flavor that is characteristic of scones, give it a try with coffee.

Dark S'more handmade New York cookie
The second dessert I ordered was a cookie. I chose the Dark S'more among the handmade New York cookies, and it cost ₩4,500. Unlike a typical thin cookie, a New York cookie is appealing for its thick, substantial feel. With the Dark S'more added in, I think it would suit anyone who loves sweet desserts.

The Helsinki Latte was impressive from the first sip, spreading softly across my mouth. The nutty, smooth flavor of milk blended naturally with the coffee, making it easy to drink without feeling heavy.
If you’re looking for a café near Yangjae Citizen’s Forest where you can enjoy specialty coffee and a variety of bakery desserts, do stop by Mini Male Coffee Roasters. It was fun choosing a different dessert to suit each coffee menu item, and it made me want to try the other desserts one by one on my next visit :)
