Dangsan pizza bar with half-and-half pies: Long Time No See

In short

Long Time No See Dangsan Branch is a pizza and beer bar near Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. I ordered a half-and-half herb garlic potato and pepperoni pizza, then poured beer by the amount from self-serve taps. Verdict: a satisfying spot for pizza and as much beer as you want.

An evening of pizza and beer near Dangsan Station

While wondering what to have for dinner—or a late-night snack—I headed to Long Time No See, which has held its spot near Dangsan Station for ages! It is right on the second floor once you go a little way into the side street off the main road.

Go up these stairs and you will find a place spanning the second and third floors! A meeting of beer masters and pizza masters, haha.

They said it was known for handmade pizza, so pizza and beer it was. The pizza dough is fermented for a full 72 hours, so I was really looking forward to the pizza too, haha.

Wear this wristband, head to the beer towers, and tap it to be recognized. You are charged per 10 ml for however much you pour!

The basic snack is popcorn! You can refill it endlessly at the popcorn machine beside the self bar. It is nutty and mild, the kind of snack that goes down easily when you are full.

Half-and-half pizza and plenty of side dishes

Back to the menu from earlier. Each pizza has an unusual name, but they also sell familiar pizzas found at most pizza places, such as combination, bulgogi, potato, and sweet potato, plus fresh salad pizza topped with basil~

If you want two flavors, you can get a half-and-half pizza; and if pizza feels like too much for a second round, there are lots of side dishes too, haha. From dried snacks to sherbet, the snack selection is broad like at any bar. After much deliberation, we ordered the popular half-and-half: I Want to Hold You (herb garlic potato) and The Classic of Pizza (pepperoni).

Beer poured into the glass you want

Now that we had ordered, it was beer time~~ There were thoughtfully chilled glasses, and you can choose among three shapes. There were also regular beer glasses and what looked like ade glasses outside, so it seems like you could bring over a bunch and share them.

From Cass and Hanmac to a variety of craft beers, plus highballs and wine, there is a lot to choose from. Prices vary by type, but many seemed to be around ₩200 per 10 ml. You can also order bottles in addition to drinks from the taps.

When you first start pouring, you may not have the knack and get lots of foam. If there is too much, press the staff-call button and they pour it beautifully for you! There are truly lots of beers across price ranges, including lagers and ales, and being able to enjoy them like draft beer is the appeal. There are rinsers between the beer machines too, so you can enjoy them without flavors mixing.

There is a self bar next to the beer glasses where you can take popcorn and hovenia tea, along with Tabasco, hot sauce, cheese powder, small plates, and cutlery—help yourself.

Group seating and the self bar

There are quite a few tables for two to four people and group tables, and I heard there are seats on the third floor as well. It can get a little noisy when there is a group, but once they left, we could enjoy it quietly.

We started setting up after pouring our beer. Pick up small plates, tissues, and so on from the self bar.

Since it was a beer I was trying for the first time, I poured just a little—but the first glass was a fail ㅠㅠ It was labeled a lager, but it tasted fruity like an ale.

The satisfaction of fresh-baked half-and-half pizza

The pizza came out freshly baked, and they had cut it into neat squares, making it easy to eat.

A pizza loaded with cream and gloriously stretchy cheese♡ I do not think we added a separate cheese crust, but there was cheese at the edge of the bread too, which made it even tastier—and of course the topped portions were delicious >< Last time I came and only drank beer, which was a shame, but the pizza itself was so good that I can agree it is a great pizza spot! We drank as much beer as we wanted, yet it was more affordable than expected, so I was very satisfied!
