Back at a favorite ogyeopsal spot in Hongdae

I was in Hongdae for work for the first time in ages the other day, so of course I went back to one of my go-to spots whenever I’m there: Chopilsal Pork Grill Hongdae Branch (초필살돼지구이 홍대점)! *_*! It was already one of the waiting-list favorites I visited whenever I went to Busan, and then one opened in Hongdae too... haha. Now it has become one of the places I absolutely have to visit whenever I’m in Hongdae?! Hahaha.

Chopilsal Pork Grill Hongdae Branch
It’s a great-value Hongdae meat restaurant for samgyeopsal (pork belly), ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly with skin), and pork skin! Maybe it’s because the weather has turned chilly, but my appetite has come back to life lately hahaha. So I’ve been eating especially well these days...

Oh, and since it had been a while, I spotted menu items I hadn’t seen before! I’ll have to try the Chopilsal mixed naengmyeon (cold noodles) next time. But this place! I guess it was even featured on a show called Street Restaurant Fighter ㅇ0ㅇ!!!! Anyway, Chopilsal Pork Grill Hongdae Branch is a great-value Hongdae barbecue spot for samgyeopsal!!! Since it was a familiar favorite, we got right in and ordered quickly!

Lots of side dishes and speedy service
There are so many reasons I like this place! First, I love the wide variety of neat little side dishes that go so well with the meat +_+ Second, the food comes out quickly, which I love too!!!!

We ordered three portions of ogyeopsal! And one portion of pork skin! They told us the pork skin would be grilled separately and brought out. Just look at that beautiful meat before it hits the grill! Chewy ogyeopsal with the skin still attached really is love!

We were having meat, but we needed rice too, so we ordered zucchini doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew). For just ₩1,000 extra, they let us switch it to a musaengchae daejeopbap, a big bowl of rice with seasoned shredded radish, so we did! *_* The bubbling zucchini doenjang-jjigae and that radish-rice bowl look incredible too, right!?

A table full of food for Friday dinner!

An ogyeopsal and pork-skin feast for two
We grilled the meat ourselves... Yep! I’m good at grilling meat ^0^!!!!!! This is already my second visit to this great Hongdae barbecue place! Three portions of ogyeopsal + one portion of pork skin~~~ was just right for two women! So satisfying!!!!

Ah, of course there’s always a separate stomach for rice! We happily nom nom nom nom nommed the meat with the radish-rice bowl and doenjang-jjigae... You have to eat meat and rice together!

Chewy pork skin dipped in soybean powder
As we ate, they brought out the pork skin too. Seriously, the pork skin here is so wonderfully chewy and delicious...ㅠ Why is pork skin so good when I don’t even drink? I don’t like alcohol, yet I eat drinking snacks better than anyone...

Chopilsal Pork Grill’s pork skin is dessert. You have to get it!!!!!!! Dip it in soybean powder and it’s so nutty and delicious...!

The meat is delicious with ssammu (pickled radish wraps), and it’s delicious with the radish-rice bowl too! Their ssammu is seriously so good! With such a variety of side dishes, it’s easy to enjoy every single bite. I got caught up in a huge chat with my older sister while eating, and before we knew it—gone in a flash....! And even with all this, it didn’t come to ₩70,000 hahaha. That’s why I like this great-value Hongdae barbecue spot, Chopilsal Pork Grill Hongdae Branch, even more.

I’m supposed to be dieting, but I ate so well hahaha. It’s no secret that we went for dessert after all this too... >_< I also captured a video of the meat sizzling away, so be sure to check that out too~ hehe.
If you’re looking for a delicious, good-value Hongdae barbecue place for samgyeopsal, I’d love to recommend Chopilsal Pork Grill Hongdae Branch. That’s the end of my second-visit record!!!!!!!
