Lamb chop restaurant in Jongno, Seoul: extra lamb with the 2-person

In short

Yukrab Jongno is a beef and lamb chop grill restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building near Exit 4 of Jonggak Station in Jongno, Seoul. On an early Sunday evening with a reservation, the writer had the 2-person Yukrab set (jingalbisal 120g, tosisal 120g, lamb chops 230g) in a private room and liked the lamb so much that an extra portion was ordered. With no gamey smell and private rooms, Yukrab Jongno works just as well for team dinners as for dates.

Signature charcoal-grilled meat photo at Yukrab Jongno

I was looking for somewhere to have dinner near Jonggak Station recently and ended up at a great-atmosphere meat restaurant that works just as well for a team dinner as it does for a date.

Booking a private room for an early Sunday evening at Yukrab Jongno

I made a reservation for an early Sunday evening. You can book through Naver, so if it's a special occasion or a group visit, I'd recommend reserving ahead.

Overall the vibe was clean but classy enough to suit a formal occasion too.

Alcohol menu with 2nd anniversary soju and beer discounts

They also had a good range of alcohol, and when I visited they were running a 2nd anniversary discount on soju and beer. Less pressure on the drinks bill, so I'd recommend it even more as a team dinner spot.

Window-side hall table with partitions at Yukrab Jongno

The hall tables each had partitions, so they were somewhat separated from the next table, and the window seats had a pretty good atmosphere.

We were shown to a private room, where we could eat comfortably in our own space. Since we'd booked ahead, the table was already set up when we arrived, and the staff were kind — the service overall was great.

The restroom is inside the restaurant and separated by gender, so it's easy to use.

As soon as we were seated and ordered, they loaded the charcoal so we could start eating right away.

What we ordered at Yukrab Jongno, plus the review event

Yukrab Jongno was running a Naver receipt review event. The perks differ depending on whether you're a party of 2+ or 4+, and you could choose from several options like side dishes, drinks, or a discount — pretty nice.

There was a huge range of options, from set menus good for sharing to sides good for meals or drinking snacks, plus lots of alcohol choices. We ordered the 2-person Yukrab set plus an extra order of lamb rack.

The banchan and basic table setting

Even the basic side dishes came in more variety than I expected.

Basic side dishes including kimchi and cabbage salad

Kimchi, cabbage salad, seasoned chili, doenjang chili, pickles, stir-fried garlic scapes. All good pairings for meat, so I kept reaching for them between bites. Several sauces were also set out, and the garlic sauce especially was totally my thing.

The basic sauces were set on both sides, which made them easy to reach. There was soy sauce that goes well with the garnish, cumin (zhiran) powder that pairs well with lamb, plus curry powder and salt.

What comes with the Yukrab set menu

The set comes with steamed egg and doenjang soup (fermented soybean paste stew). The steamed egg was seasoned just right, and the doenjang soup was packed with tofu and meat. It had that hearty, rustic-style doenjang flavor and was genuinely delicious.

Inside the 2-person Yukrab set: beef and 230g of lamb chops

We ordered the version of the 2-person set that comes with lamb rack. You can also swap it for tosisal (hanging tender), so it's an option even for people who can't eat lamb.

Yukrab sources through their own in-house distributor, so the quality was good while the price stayed reasonable. From the right: jingalbisal (rib finger) 120g + tosisal (hanging tender) 120g + lamb rack 230g. The staff recommended grilling the jingalbisal first.

The set also comes with grilling cheese, and the garnish lineup — sweet pumpkin, eggplant, potato, garlic scape, pineapple, mushroom, rice cake — was varied enough to mix and match with everything.

Jingalbisal (rib finger) 120g

We grilled the jingalbisal first, and being rib finger meat, it was juicy and really tender. Even just dipped in salt, the flavor came through and it melted in the mouth. A touch of wasabi cut through the richness, keeping it clean to eat.

Personally, the garlic sauce was genuinely great — it added a savory depth and a subtle garlic aroma almost like eating seasoned galbi, while still letting the meat's own flavor come through strongly. Really delicious.

Tosisal (hanging tender) 120g

Next we grilled the tosisal. It's less juicy than the rib finger, but has a stronger meaty flavor, and when grilled right it gets a chewy texture I really like. It went well with the garlic sauce and the grilled garlic scapes too.

We also ate it with the grilled cheese, and the combination of deep meaty flavor and the cheese's savoriness gave it a completely different character to enjoy.

The cheese that came with it melts fast if you set it on top of the grilled vegetables.

The rice cake, once grilled golden, was completely crispy outside and chewy inside. The subtle charcoal aroma soaked in made it savory and delicious.

The main event: 230g lamb chops trimmed tableside by the staff

The main event of the day — lamb rack! After grilling it on both sides for a bit, you call over a staff member and they trim the bone and meat for you. It was bigger and better quality than I'd expected. Once they've prepped it to be easy to eat, you just grill it a little more.

I ate it with the cumin (zhiran) powder — juicy, tender, and the savory, distinctive lamb flavor really came through. Best of all, there was zero gamey smell, and if you like lamb, I'd absolutely recommend ordering this.

I was already pretty full, but it was so good I ordered more lamb rack.

Genuinely amazing. I think I'll be back at Yukrab in Jongno 3-ga whenever I'm craving beef and lamb rack again.
