Jonggak Station Korean set meals: bossam and bulgogi, Bonghyejane
In short
Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch is a Korean set-meal restaurant on basement floor 2 of Jongno Tower in Jongno, Seoul, right in front of Jonggak Station exit 3-1. A meal here with a close friend covered the bossam set at 15,000 won and the charcoal-grilled beef bulgogi set at 14,000 won, each laid out as a full table with soup, seaweed, side dishes, white kimchi and pumpkin porridge. For a home-cooked-style Korean meal rather than anything flashy, Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch is a solid choice.

I was meeting up with a close friend for a Jonggak date and went looking for good spots in the area, and I found this Jonggak restaurant near Jongno Bookstore inside Jongno Tower! I went to Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch. It serves neatly plated Jongno-style Korean set meals, you can order just one portion, and it's great value, so let me introduce it! If you're looking for a good Jonggak Korean restaurant or a solo-dining spot near Jonggak Station, definitely save this one. 😊💛

It's right outside Jonggak Station exit 3-1. A one-minute walk, seriously! Being inside Jongno Tower made it super easy to find. Great location if you're coming by public transport, perfect when you're looking for a restaurant near Jonggak Station or inside Jongno Tower. It's also easy to move on to Gwanghwamun, Euljiro, or Insadong from here, and since there are restaurants, cafés, and even a bookstore inside Jongno Tower, we had our meal and then browsed Jongno Bookstore too. Highly recommend for a Jongno date course or Jonggak date course!!

Inside the restaurant: solo seats and group tables
The restaurant had a pretty clean, pretty atmosphere. Wooden tables and chairs. The lighting was soft too, so overall it felt warm and very selfie-friendly!

The spacing between tables wasn't cramped either. There's a range from solo seats to 4-person tables to group seating, so it would work well as a Jonggak company dinner spot too. Looking around at the other tables, a lot of office workers dining alone were there too. Recommend it as a solo-dining spot near Jonggak Station 😊

What comes with the bossam set (15,000 won) and charcoal bulgogi set (14,000 won)
What we ordered that day was 🌟 the bossam set for ₩15,000 and the grilled bulgogi set for ₩14,000. True to a proper set meal, the food comes out as a full spread — not just rice and a main dish, but soup, seaweed, and side dishes too, so the composition was really good. And the set even includes white kimchi and pumpkin porridge! Daebak 👍🏻
The bossam set (boiled pork wraps) came with a pretty generous amount of meat. The meat wasn't dry at all, it was tender, which I liked, and it was completely filling as a meal.

It also came with garlic, chili, and sauce on the side, so you could mix and match depending on your taste.

On the table there was also cold-pressed sesame oil, Bonghyeja sesame oil, from an actual mill! Made with 100% whole sesame seeds 👏🏻 I wanted to buy some to take home! It was so nutty and delicious.
The grilled bulgogi (charcoal-grilled marinated beef) I ordered had a subtle smoky charcoal flavor with a slightly sweet taste, and it also came with a generous amount of meat, so there was no sense of it being lacking!

Pumpkin porridge served with every set meal
The pumpkin porridge (hobakjuk) that comes with the set was especially good — the pumpkin porridge you get at most restaurants can feel pretty sweet, but this one wasn't too sweet, it was just right.

It was smooth and mild, and really tasty 🎃

My friend ate the pumpkin porridge like an appetizer at the start of the meal, while I ate mine as dessert after finishing my rice.

There was also soup served alongside, good for taking spoonfuls of in between bites of rice, and with the seaweed added in too, it really felt like a home-cooked meal.

Why Bonghyejane Jubang works when you want home-style Korean food near Jonggak
Rather than something flashy, eating proper Korean food with rice, side dishes, and soup all served together gave off a comfortable, home-cooked-meal kind of feeling. You can get familiar favorites like bossam or bulgogi as a full set meal, and the portion of meat is generous too. Great!

After the meal, we browsed books at Jongno Bookstore right in front and even stopped by a café, so it was a great way to spend time on a day out with a friend! Outdoor dining in Jongno is nice too, but if you want a hearty Korean set meal in a clean, tidy restaurant, it's worth stopping by Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch.🤍
