A spacious, calm restaurant I found in Gangnam
The Mignon Seoul Hours: 10:00–22:00 Break time: 15:00–17:00 (none on Saturday and Sunday) Near Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station Three-story building with a rooftop

Not long ago, I was looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere in Gangnam and visited The Mignon Seoul.

Even the exterior was decorated so beautifully. It is quite a large standalone building for Gangnam.

Since the building itself has three floors, it was more spacious than I expected, haha. I was shown to the second floor!

The overall interior was clean and calm, and I liked that there was plenty of space between tables. More than anything, the tables were far enough apart that conversations from the next table did not really bother us, so it was easy to focus on talking with my companion. Personally, I thought it would be great for a meal with friends, but also a pretty good spot for a blind date or date. It is not overly formal, yet it does not feel like a casual restaurant either, so it felt low-pressure for a first meeting too~ And it is bright.

In particular, it was not too noisy or packed with tables, so I thought it would work well for a blind date or a date where you want to talk a lot!

After actually visiting, I think I will remember this place not only for the food, but for the atmosphere too~~

What I ordered with white wine
There was a wide variety on the menu, from brunch dishes to gnocchi and pasta! We ordered mortadella burrata salad, seafood oil pasta, and a bottle of white wine.

There were lots of dishes, from salads to pasta, that would be good with white wine, so we ordered a bottle too.

They also had wine by the glass~ At quite reasonable prices.

Mortadella burrata salad for a light start
Mortadella burrata salad. The mortadella burrata salad was nice and light to start with.

The burrata had its signature soft flavor, with mortadella and tomato together for a fresh feel~ It was also nice with the wine, and made a good light start before the pasta.

The seafood oil pasta I liked most
And my personal favorite that day was the seafood oil pasta!! It had a generous amount of seafood overall, and above all, I liked that it was seasoned with a little saltiness!

There was quite a lot of seafood in it too! You might think of oil pasta as simply mild, but this one had both the seafood flavor and a savory saltiness, so it was such a good match with white wine! It actually felt more suited to the wine once I had a glass alongside it!!

If you visit here, I would personally recommend ordering wine as well. The food naturally goes well with wine, so it was nice to order a casual bottle and have it with the meal.

Another unexpectedly nice part was the wine price. I remember the white wine we ordered costing about ₩27,000, which felt quite reasonable considering restaurant bottle prices. Thanks to that, we could enjoy two dishes and a bottle of wine without it feeling like too much. At a restaurant with a nice atmosphere like The Mignon Seoul, the price can often climb quite a bit once you add wine, but this part was good here~ A price that feels less burdensome for both people~

If you want a quiet meal and conversation in Gangnam
Overall, what I felt after eating here was that it has a nice balance of food + atmosphere + price. The space was clean and the tables were comfortably spaced, so above all it was easy to have a conversation. So if you are looking for a blind-date spot in Gangnam, or somewhere to eat while talking quietly, I think it is worth putting on your list at least once. There are so many noisy places around Gangnam Station ㅠㅠ Personally, I especially recommend the white wine + seafood oil pasta combination! If you like wine, I recommend ordering it with your food. The atmosphere is not too heavy but not overly casual either, making The Mignon Seoul a nice place for a date, blind date, or casual dinner plan~~
