If you're looking for somewhere in Ingye-dong for a solo drink, Yahwa is one of the good options for spending some quiet time.

Yahwa is a solo drinking bar that leans more toward a variety of cocktails and highballs than the usual soju-and-beer bar setup. The menu ranges from signature cocktails to classic cocktails to highballs, so even if you don't know much about drinks, you can pick based on the names or flavors. Yahwa in Ingye-dong also has plenty of easy-drinking options, which seems great for people trying cocktails for the first time!

Yahwa also has simple snacks to pair with the drinks, so it's easy to linger a while with a little food rather than just having one drink and leaving.

Interior & design — bar seats that make solo drinking comfortable

Inside, Yahwa is centered around bar-style seating, making it a good atmosphere for solo visits or small groups. The lighting is soft throughout, definitely a different feel from a bright, noisy bar!

There are outlets under the tables too, so it's fine to check your phone or listen to music while spending time alone, and it's also good for just enjoying the drinking atmosphere itself.

People trying solo drinking for the first time might feel awkward being alone, but Yahwa's bar-style layout in Ingye-dong actually makes it easier to visit solo.

How did the ordered menu taste?

Earl Grey highball

Yahwa's Earl Grey highball has that distinct, gentle black tea aroma, making it more fragrant and smooth to drink than a typical whiskey highball. The carbonation comes with the Earl Grey scent rising up, so it's a nice light way to start your first drink! If you like sweeter drinks with fragrance rather than heavy or strong liquor, this should suit your taste well.

Midori sour

The second drink I ordered at Yahwa, a good solo drinking spot in Ingye-dong, was the Midori sour! The color alone catches your eye. It has that distinctly sweet, refreshing Midori flavor, giving a totally different vibe from the Earl Grey highball. The visuals were pretty too, great for photos.

Sea salt chocolate

Sea salt chocolate to go with the drinks. The chocolate's sweetness comes with a gentle saltiness, making it better paired with alcohol than a plain sweet chocolate would be. Especially with a strong or tart cocktail, pairing it bit by bit with Yahwa's sea salt chocolate worked really well together.

Honey ricotta cheese crackers

The last thing I ordered, Yahwa's honey ricotta cheese crackers, was personally a great pairing with drinks. Soft ricotta cheese sits on top of crispy crackers, with honey's sweetness added, giving the whole thing a soft, sweet taste. The ricotta is thick yet not too heavy, on the lighter side, so it went well with the crackers' crunchy texture. With the honey added on top, it had a gentle sweetness that paired nicely with cocktails or highballs!

Would I recommend it as a solo drinking bar in Ingye-dong?

Yahwa, the solo drinking bar in Ingye-dong, doesn't have the loud, crowded feel of a typical bar — instead it's an atmosphere for slowly enjoying a drink and a snack alone, which made solo drinking feel much less of a burden. I liked being able to try different cocktails one after another, and light snacks like the sea salt chocolate and cavassa chips made the drinks go down even better haha.

If you want to spend some time alone in Ingye-dong, have a quiet drink after work, or look for a good-atmosphere bar for a second round, Yahwa is a solid recommendation if you're searching for a solo drinking bar in Ingye-dong!
