A private-room bar on Rodeo Street by Suwon Station

There's a place I turn to when I want some private time of our own in the main commercial strip of Rodeo Street by Suwon Station. 😊 Today's post is my review of Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch (만석집 수원역점), a large private-room bar with tasty, varied anju (drinking snacks) and rooms that can take big groups.

Getting there and the exterior

It's only a 5-minute walk from Suwon Station, so the accessibility is unbeatable. ✨ Being in the heart of Rodeo Street, it's really convenient as a meeting spot, and the service is satisfying too.

Private rooms for 2 to 10 people

The biggest draw here is that they have private rooms in a range of sizes, holding anywhere from 2 to 10 people 😍.

For a date where you want to talk quietly, or a get-together with friends full of laughter, it doesn't get better than this.

The vibe is just right for spending time with good people, chatting comfortably in a private space.

We ordered the gopdoritang, Syuban & Chiban, an apple mango mojito (₩6,900) and a can of non-alcoholic lemon highball (₩5,900).

Complimentary snack: chicken drumstick crackers

As soon as you sit down, chicken-drumstick-shaped crackers come out first as the complimentary anju. They're just right for crunching on while you chat until the main dishes arrive. haha

Gopdoritang that keeps simmering as you eat

The gopdoritang (곱도리탕, spicy stew of beef intestine and chicken), which keeps simmering on a gas burner as you eat, is the highlight here, no question! Not only is it loaded with glass noodles, rice cakes and potatoes, the amount of daechang (beef large intestine) and chicken thigh is very generous.

In particular, there was no gamey smell from the meat at all, and the sauce had soaked all the way through, so it holds up even against a specialist restaurant!

Gopdoritang without glass noodles would be a letdown, but they come standard.👍 Personally I found it tastier than the gopdoritang at Gyegeunsang (계근상). lol The broth that gets richer the longer it simmers is superb. haha

Syuban & Chiban made with chicken thigh

Syuban Chiban (슈반치반), which comes half supreme chicken and half cheese supreme chicken, is boneless but all chicken thigh, so the texture is really tender. Crispy outside, moist inside haha

The crispy chicken blends harmoniously with the sweet sauce, and every bite makes you crave a drink. haha And the portion is so big, it's top-tier value for money.

Eating it with the crispy nacho chips that come on the side, I couldn't think of a more appealing drinking snack. A place that does chicken well too.. a bar with genuinely good anju is a rare thing, honestly 😭

Apple mango mojito and non-alcoholic lemon highball

The mojito, packed with sweet apple mango pulp, and the fizzy lemon highball paired perfectly with the food. There are non-alcoholic options too, so even people who don't drink can join in the fun. The refreshing finish cleaned up my palate nicely, so I was very satisfied.

Overall verdict

A variety of room spaces, good service, and delicious anju with real skill behind it! If you're looking for a proper gathering spot near Suwon Station, I highly recommend Manseokjip 👍💕
