Western-style pork cutlets close to Magok One Grove

I've been going to Magok One Grove often lately, but its restaurant selection is not all that big, so the choices feel a little limited. Since One Grove is by Magok Station, there are lots of office workers nearby—and, if you look around, more good restaurants than you might expect. Above all, a place has to be tasty and good value to survive around Magok Station, where office workers make up most of the crowd.

Western-style pork cutlets. If you love pork cutlets and have come to Magok One Grove, I recommend Tteudon Magok Branch (뜨돈 마곡점), close to Magok Station. Above all, it is great value, and the cutlets are seriously good, too..

There is a self-service bar, so you can take as many morning rolls, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), soup, and other items as you want.

And the spicy stir-fried pork was so good, too... I honestly thought this was a spicy pork specialist... It is not just a side dish offered with pork cutlets; the spicy pork itself is genuinely fantastic here.

Walking to Tteudon Magok Branch from One Grove

I walked over for a late dinner after shopping for this and that at One Grove. I do not know whether it took five or ten minutes, but it was not long at all. Walk straight along the main road from Exit 4 of Magok Station and you will find the Queens Park 12 building; it is on the second floor.

It is already quite affordable, and weekday lunch pork cutlets get another ₩1,000 discount. I almost wondered whether they should be operating at such good value in a place packed with Magok office workers. After eating at these prices, other pork cutlet places start to seem so expensive. Though really, the other places are probably charging normally...

The old-fashioned pork cutlet had a sauce-on-the-side option, which was convenient because I did not have to separately tell the staff I wanted it that way. I also ordered a spicy pork rice bowl.

The self-service bar and restaurant atmosphere

The atmosphere inside. Opening hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

I arrived right at the wire for last orders, so I was the final customer. The two- and four-person tables are neatly arranged. There is even a cute little playroom in one corner.

More than anything, the reason I recommend Tteudon is its self-service bar. You can have as much kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) as you want... A surprising number of pork cutlet places do not serve kkakdugi, serve bad ones, or give you a tiny bean-sized portion. Here, though, the kkakdugi was perfectly fermented and delicious... and it was great being able to take as much as I wanted.

Just take as much as you want. The udon broth is unlimited too.. I put in way too many toppings there.. I recommend a more reasonable amount.

The soupy tteokbokki is a standout here... So delicious. It is simply the kind of tteokbokki everyone would find tasty. But since I was having pork cutlet, I did not think I could eat much, so I only took a little at first.

You can take as many morning rolls as you want, too.

You can also help yourself to cream soup, which would be sorely missed with Western-style pork cutlets.

You can make a little pork-cutlet burger with a morning roll like this. I like morning rolls themselves, so I just ate them plain.

From pork cutlets to pasta: the menu

Looking over the menu, there is mala udon and mala stir-fried pasta as well.

Cheese cutlet, chicken cutlet, curry cutlet, and whole-grain salad pork cutlet are ₩13,900. Sweet potato cheese cutlet is ₩14,900. I had the old-fashioned pork cutlet for ₩10,900. Bacon cream spaghetti is ₩14,900, spicy pork stir-fried udon is ₩14,900, and pan memil (cold buckwheat noodles) is ₩8,900.

There are various kinds of pasta, too. It is a good place for families to come and order several different dishes to share.

The spicy pork rice bowl cannot be adjusted for heat, but it had a lightly spicy, delicious flavor. There is also a fish cake udon set and fish cake udon on its own.

Old-fashioned pork cutlet and better-than-expected spicy pork rice

After ordering the pork cutlet, I took just what I could eat from the self-service bar.

The spicy pork rice bowl and pork cutlet arrived. Honestly, I ordered the spicy pork rice bowl without much expectation, but it was as delicious as the pork cutlet here. It might even be better than at restaurants specializing in spicy pork rice bowls...

The pork cutlet was so delicious here, too.. With this level of flavor at this price, this place cannot help but do well. You will know exactly what I mean after trying it once. The sauce comes separately, and it is a real key point too.. It is tangy and so good. If you are looking for a pork cutlet place near Magok Station, do not overthink it—just go to Tteudon Magok Branch. Of the many pork cutlet places I have tried, this is one of the delicious ones ranked near the top... Above all, the prices are remarkably kind, and the Western-style pork cutlet spread is satisfyingly complete.
