Let me introduce you to "Pyeonbaekrim" near Daehwa Station in Ilsan 🌳

I brought back cucumber cold soup, perilla leaves, lettuce, sweet chili sauce, and peppers ✌🏻

Beef pyeonbaekjjim for 2 and the 7-minute timer

We ordered the beef pyeonbaekjjim 2-person set + jjamppong rice & soy sauce shrimp rice set. The visual of the beef pyeonbaekjjim,,, pure innocent-looking food itself 🩷 Even before it's cooked, the raw meat somehow already looks delicious — total magic ✨

The jjamppong rice and soy sauce shrimp rice that came with the pyeonbaekjjim set arrived right away too! But wait, this is also visually stunning 🥹

For the beef pyeonbaekjjim, they set a 7-minute timer, and when time's up the owner comes over to open it personally! A short but intense 7 minutes, let's go-🚨

After 7 minutes, finally the pyeonbaekjjim Pandora's box opens 🎁 Beautifully cooked, glossy woo-samgyeop (thin beef belly),,,🤎 And these steamers are made from pyeonbaek (Japanese cypress), the king of phytoncides — meat and veggies steamed together so the grease disappears entirely while the nutrients stay intact. This pyeonbaekjjim is a strong strong strong recommendation whether you're looking for a diet-friendly meal out or just a healthy dinner 🏋🏻‍♀️

Woo-samgyeop pyeonbaekjjim fully cooked after 7 minutes

The ratio of woo-samgyeop is better than my life choices~🥸 The moment you take a bite, it's soft and chewy with zero fishy smell, pure savory goodness,,,

A piece of woo-samgyeop pyeonbaekjjim lifted up

This is a Korean reinterpretation of seiromushi, a traditional dish from Hokkaido, Japan — you get to enjoy the flavors of meat and various vegetables all at once!! Meat + veggies = healthy food ❤️💚

Dipping alternately in the two sauces means you never get tired of it 🙅🏻‍♀️

Pyeonbaekjjim you can wrap in lettuce? Yes, right here 🙋🏻‍♀️ Delicious meat wrapped in a leaf is an unbeatable combo ❤️‍🔥

The soy sauce shrimp rice and jjamppong rice that come with the set

This is the dish we ordered with the beef pyeonbaekjjim + soy sauce shrimp rice set, and it didn't come out half-hearted at all — a properly generous soy sauce shrimp rice,,,🦐🍚 Making it the way the owner showed us 💭 Cut up the soy sauce shrimp, mix it into the rice, add soy sauce dressing to taste, and mix it up well before eating!

Mixing soy sauce dressing into the soy sauce shrimp rice

It's also sold as a single dish on the meal menu, and totally understandable why,,, the umami of the soy shrimp, the salty punch of the soy sauce dressing, the pop of flying fish roe, and the savory dried seaweed flakes — this is definitely a very delicious rice bowl 🤩

Soy sauce shrimp rice topped with flying fish roe and seaweed flakes

This is the dish ordered with the beef pyeonbaekjjim + jjamppong rice set! Full of smoky wok flavor, packed with vegetables and meat, tasting good enough to rival an actual Chinese restaurant — I really enjoyed this one,,,!! Personally, I thought it held up against jjamppong from most Chinese restaurants,,,👍🏻 This one's also sold as a single dish!!

Pyeonbaekrim's jjamppong rice loaded with vegetables and meat

Soaking the rice in the jjamppong broth makes you keep forgetting whether you're at a pyeonbaekjjim restaurant or a Chinese restaurant~~😵

And just like that, we cleared out plate after plate,,,💛

When is Pyeonbaekrim worth a visit?

This was my first time trying the combo of pyeonbaekjjim with jjamppong rice and soy sauce shrimp rice, and isn't good food + good food = 🩵? Going forward, whenever I'm craving a bunch of different dishes, I plan to try more combinations at Pyeonbaekrim! I really recommend Pyeonbaekrim near Daehwa Station — I enjoyed this meal so much!
