Goyang bakery café with free decaf after 5pm: Baedagol Bakery House

Today I'm reviewing Baedagol Bakery House, a large café with a pretty garden located in Deogyang-gu, Goyang!!

Baedagol Bakery House from outside: the garden, and yes, dogs are welcome

Here's the outside of Baedagol Bakery House!! Right off the bat, the exterior has the feel of a standalone house — really charming and pretty!! The white-toned building stood out against a pretty, spacious garden!!

I was surprised at how well-landscaped the front yard was!! The flowers and trees were big and beautiful, and there were parasols and seats tucked among them, so it felt like drinking coffee right in a garden!! The weather's been so nice lately that having coffee outdoors was really lovely~

Dogs are welcome too, so lots of people brought their pups!! It's great for walking a dog, and with the pretty flowers there was plenty to look at too~ I kept thinking, how can flowers be this pretty, it was great for photos too!!

Drink menu and the free decaf swap after 5pm

Here's the drink menu. There was a wide range of coffee and non-coffee drinks, and since it's melon season these days, the melon menu caught my eye! It seems like the fresh fruit menu changes with the seasons~

Here's a handy tip: if you visit after 5pm, they'll swap your beans to decaf for free if you ask!! I ordered an iced decaf latte haha

What bread Baedagol Bakery House sells, and what I picked

Being a true bakery café, there were so many kinds of bread. Everything looked delicious, so I stood there deciding for a good while haha I ended up ordering the fresh fruit cake and the squid ink sausage bread!!

Inside the first and second floors, plus the terrace seats

The café interior was so pretty too!! The wood-and-white tones gave it a warm, cozy feel, and thanks to the well-kept landscaping, I could enjoy the pretty view through the floor-to-ceiling windows!!

The 2nd floor felt a bit more open, with the added perk of an even wider view~ Both floors had plenty of seats and a nice atmosphere, so I really liked it.

There's a terrace like this on the 2nd floor, so I got to drink my coffee in a cool breeze!!

I took photos around sunset and they came out so pretty!! The sky's been gorgeous lately, so just zoning out and staring at it felt great haha such nice weather for an outing these days~

There's also a private space on the 2nd floor, so it's great if you want a quiet spot to sit.

How the decaf latte, fresh fruit cake and squid ink sausage bread tasted

My café latte, cake, and bread arrived. I ordered one decaf latte, and even though it was decaf, it was rich and delicious!! It didn't taste like decaf at all, so I enjoyed it even more. With nutty milk and well-balanced beans, it went down easy. The regular café latte had a slightly bolder flavor!! Both were tasty thanks to good beans haha

This is the fresh fruit cake. Since figs are in season these days, it had figs in it. Honestly, the fig slices were a bit thin for something billed as loaded with fresh fruit, but the cake sponge was so soft and fluffy it felt like castella (Japanese-style sponge cake)!! With plenty of fresh cream on top, it reminded me of eating Taiwanese castella!! It paired quite nicely with the coffee~

This is the squid ink sausage bread. The bread itself was big, so the portion was generous!! The chewy squid ink bread with a satisfying, juicy sausage inside was the highlight. There was cheese on the outside too, making it a savory, umami-rich bread perfect as a meal. Eating just one really filled me up.

Is Baedagol Bakery House worth the drive from Ilsan?

Baedagol Bakery House, this large café near Ilsan, has spacious parking so it's easy to visit by car, and both the indoor and outdoor landscaping are so pretty that it's a great place to bring your parents too. The coffee and bread were tasty, so it was well worth the drive~ It's such a pretty café that I'd love to visit again~!!
