In short
Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is a large standalone galbi (grilled rib) restaurant in a building of its own on Songnang-ro in Mansong-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi. On the way back from a pre-Chuseok grave visit, the family shared three servings of hand-made Korean pork ribs at 19,000 won and a brisket doenjang (soybean paste) stew at 6,000 won, then finished with the free dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles) and bbeong-tuigi ice cream. A meat restaurant that's genuinely good for family dinners — Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch. A big store with rooms, a parking lot, delicious hand-marinated galbi, and free dessert naengmyeon — this Yangju, Gyeonggi restaurant checks every box for a family meal!

Parking at Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch: a wide lot at a large galbi house
Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is a standalone-building meat restaurant on Songnang-ro in Mansong-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi, with a large parking lot right in front — zero parking stress. Manpo Galbi, already popular in Uijeongbu, apparently opened a branch in Yangju too? This time, ahead of Chuseok, we visited on our way back from an early grave visit, since it's a large restaurant that works well for family meals.
The lot is big enough that we could eat at a leisurely pace. This neighborhood, Mansong-dong, also has quite a few large cafés nearby that are great for after the meal.
Inside Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch: 2nd-floor rooms and the self-bar
We visited at noon on a Sunday and the 1st floor of Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch was already packed with diners. On weekends it might be fully booked, so reserving ahead through Naver could be a good idea. If you're visiting with elderly family who have trouble with stairs, you can request 1st-floor seating when booking on Naver — worth noting!
Taking a quick look at the 2nd floor, I found these really spacious rooms that fit anywhere from 8 to 16 people. It seemed perfect for group dinners or special family occasions like a parent's birthday.
And almost every seat has partitions, so I didn't have to worry about the next table at all — it felt private and undisturbed.

There were also plenty of baby chairs scattered around. Both floors have separate men's and women's restrooms, which was convenient.
Manpo Galbi menu: from marinated galbi to galbitang

I checked out the menu at Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch, a Yangju restaurant whose name means 'to give abundantly.' Raw galbi, marinated galbi, beef short ribs, galbitang (rib soup) — a truly classic galbi restaurant.

Each table has a mini kiosk, which made ordering and requesting things from staff so convenient! The staff-request options were especially detailed — water, water cups, shot glasses, ssamjang (dipping sauce), lettuce wraps, removing the charcoal — all broken down separately, which was handy.

The large self-bar with salad and lettuce wraps is only on the 2nd floor, but if you ask staff for anything you need, they'll bring it right over.
What three servings of hand-made Korean pork ribs look like

Hand-cut Korean pork ribs, ₩19,000 x3. Ta-da! The three servings of marinated galbi we ordered arrived. They said it's made using 100% real ribs, sweetened with 7 kinds of fruits and vegetables! (No wonder it was so good...)

They brought out hot charcoal and we put all three servings on right away. The meat had score marks so the marinade had soaked in nicely.

While the hand-cut pork ribs were grilling, we tried the neatly arranged side dishes one by one.

Fresh green onion shreds and seasoned bellflower root, creamy potato salad, tangy-spicy radish salad, crunchy pickled gungchae (aster greens), and garlic-cucumber-pepper doenjang mix — all delicious across the board.

And what impressed me — yukjeon (pan-fried beef) and yukhoe (beef tartare)! Getting beef yukjeon and yukhoe as basic side dishes is thumbs up 👍🏻 for a Yangju restaurant's standards. My parents especially enjoyed the yukjeon.

They grilled the thick marinated galbi evenly without burning it. Finally, time to taste the Yangju restaurant's marinated galbi!

See the glossy sheen on the meat? Thick but very tender, and the sweet-salty marinade was delicious. The sweetness comes from fruit, so it's not artificial-tasting — the kind of flavor older folks would love too.

Fresh lettuce wraps went well with whatever side dish you added — every combination was tasty.
The meat itself has a firm bite but chews soft, with a slight smoky char from the charcoal — total flavor bomb. Since it's 100% real ribs, it really tastes the part. 👍🏻
Brisket doenjang stew, 6,000 won
The brisket doenjang stew came out bubbling in a steel pot. Wan-nae-seu! Totally my style!
They said the doenjang broth is slow-simmered with fruits and vegetables. That gave it a deeper flavor, and with plenty of brisket and vegetables, I finished it off completely, haha. The doenjang broth would probably make a great rice mix too!
Free dessert naengmyeon and bbeong-tuigi ice cream

And here's the thing — Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch gives free dessert naengmyeon! Order meat, and dessert naengmyeon comes free per person — a huge plus.

It's Hamhung-style. And this free dessert naengmyeon is house-made noodles, hand-pulled in-house?
Thin, chewy noodles with a refreshing, clean broth and seasoning, and just the right portion for dessert — we finished our family meal delicious and full! (Unless you're a big eater) three servings for three people was just the right amount.
But that's not even the end — there's also what's called bbeong-tuigi ice cream, a combo of puffed rice cracker and vanilla ice cream — what a combo, haha. Ate it up sweetly and happily :)
Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch delivered solid, no-frills flavor, spacious rooms, and thoughtful service — a Yangju restaurant that's just right for a family meal!
