Why I chose Hair Design Whur Ok-jeong among Yangju Okjeong hair salons
Hair Design Whur Ok-jeong Branch is a salon in Okjeong-dong, Yangju, that designs your color around your personal color. My roots always looked messy in photos and my color was uneven all over, so as I was thinking about a tone-down color for autumn, I ended up choosing this place among the Okjeong salons. I booked through Naver first, then visited.

Full-head color for long hair plus 3-step clinic: 120,000 won
Shoulder-to-collarbone length hair with a 3-step clinic service on top, all for ₩120,000 total. These days that's about what a full-head color alone costs elsewhere, so Hair Design Whur Ok-jeong Branch seems reasonably priced. First, the before-and-after photos.
My hair, all faded from the hot summer... sorry for neglecting you. I drove there and the salon's parking space was nice and roomy. By the time I finished around 5pm though, it was full.
3rd floor location, opening hours and the Okjeong Lake Park view
Whur, this Yangju salon, sits on the 3rd floor. Step out of the elevator and Whur is right there on the right — the entrance has such a cafe-like feel you could easily mistake it for one.
Hours are 10:00–20:00, and it's closed on the first and third Sundays of every month. Once you're seated, you get a view of Okjeong Lake Park — all green and lush, it feels more like a cafe than a hair salon. The weather that day was perfect too.
Every detail of the interior felt carefully thought out — spotless overall. In front of each mirror there was a small sponge, seemingly there so you can scratch any itchy spot after your cut yourself. The designers at Whur were clearly detail-oriented.
Orange juice and a mini muffin were served during the color treatment. I hadn't eaten lunch and was so hungry I devoured it instantly. I think you could choose between americano and juice.
The consultation: tone-down ash brown for spring warm tone
Since my personal color is spring warm, we went with a tone-down ash brown. The designer showed me a color chart and gave a thorough consultation, which really boosted my trust.
She snapped a funny shot of me waiting with the color all applied — I looked like a monkey, haha. She even put ear caps on me so the dye wouldn't get on my ears.
3-step clinic at the shampoo station and the designer's care tips
This is the clean wash room where the 3-step clinic happens. The chair was so much more comfortable than a typical salon chair — you could really relax your neck and lie back at ease.
Am I going bald or something... my wet hair felt kind of thin and sparse. I asked the designer, and she said I have plenty of density, it's just that the individual strands are thin, which put my mind at ease. Apparently once strands thin out, they're hard to thicken back up. Better watch out for hair loss early...
On to the 3-step clinic. The designer gave me a great tip while doing the treatment — she said if you scrub off conditioner or treatment thoroughly just because it feels slippery, you lose the effect. That really stuck with me. No wonder no amount of washing ever left my hair feeling soft... I'll pay more attention when washing my hair from now on. Thank you, Whur, for all these tips :-)
They said Whur uses good products at this Yangju salon. They're also sold on-site, displayed on the wall for browsing — Ayounche products! I saw other customers buying them too... next time I'll look them up and buy some myself. The packaging looks nice too.
Tastefully displayed products for sale. During the clinic treatment, my hair was wet so the designer covered me with a blanket in case I got cold. So sweet — I was touched by how much thought she put into every detail for the customer.
The finished ash brown after 1 hour 30 minutes
My finished hair, exactly the tone-down ash brown I wanted. She dried it and gave it a light blow-out too. I had plans that evening so I was so grateful for the timing. The whole service took about 1 hour 30 minutes total — any longer and I would've been late, so it was perfect.
My patchy, uneven hair got completely cleaned up into one even tone. So perfect! Now my photos should turn out pretty >-< I'm already looking forward to taking tons of photos on a picnic. I highly recommend Hair Design Whur Ok-jeong Branch as a Yangju hair salon, an Okjeong hair salon!
