Brisket-tendon pho with extra cilantro at Dongtan Station: Mibundang

This is a classic after-work combo. My friend and I decided to grab dinner near Dongtan Station on a weekday, and since we were both craving pho, we headed to Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch.

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch is on the first floor of the Dongtan Station Richian shopping complex, open 11:00–21:00 with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00. We arrived right at weekday opening and got seated immediately without waiting. But by the time we were partway through our meal, a line had already formed outside.

If you want to eat without a wait, it's best to go before the dinner rush really kicks in.

Kiosk ordering, bar seats and the mood inside Mibundang

The system here is a bit different. Instead of walking straight into the dining area, you order and pay at a kiosk outside the entrance first, then go in once a seat opens up.

All the seats are bar-style, facing the kitchen.

You can watch the cooking happen right in front of you, and the kitchen was kept impressively clean.

Above the seats sit hoisin sauce, chili, and hot sauce, with a spot to stash your bag under the table and a coat hook on the wall. I worried bar seating might make it awkward to store belongings, but that wasn't an issue at all.

What's on the menu at Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch?

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch divides its pho by the type of meat used. The menu is organized around whether you get beef brisket, brisket point, or tendon.

Since we'd made the trip, we figured we should try all the meats, so we picked the beef brisket-tendon pho along with the mixed fried platter.

Good to know: ordering one menu item per person gets you a free refill of noodles and bean sprouts.

They also sell Hanoi Beer and Saigon Beer, so you can pair steaming hot pho with a cold one. (My friend and I skipped it today, haha.)

Brisket, brisket point and tendon pho, 13,000 won, with extra cilantro

The beef brisket-tendon pho arrived first. The bowl was on the larger side, and the meat was piled so high you couldn't even see the noodles underneath.

I took a spoonful of the broth first — the spice notes weren't overpowering, and the beefy flavor came through strong.

I love cilantro, so I asked them to add it separately, and it seemed to double the exotic aroma!

The three cuts of meat were clearly distinct. The brisket was thin and savory, while the brisket point was pulled along the grain and stayed light and clean the more you chewed.

The tendon added a chewy texture that made it the most memorable of the three.

With so many sauces on offer, mixing and matching was half the fun!

The portion is huge, right? For someone with a big appetite like me, it was the perfect amount, haha.

Mixed fried platter, 8,500 won: worth sharing between two

The mixed fried platter comes out as a single plate with a variety of fried items mixed together.

Pho is mostly about the noodles and broth, so the texture can start to feel repetitive after a while — but grabbing a crispy fried bite in between kept things interesting.

If you're going with a friend, I'd recommend ordering one mixed fried platter to share!

Who should visit Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch?

My friend and I were both full just from the basic portion, no extra noodles or bean sprouts needed. Finishing off nearly all the broth left me feeling like I'd had a proper meal.

Among Dongtan's pho restaurants, this is one worth remembering when you want to eat quietly.

I went for dinner with a friend, but I noticed several solo diners around too — this seems like a good spot to stop by alone for a bowl on your way home from work.
