Mapo pizza restaurant with stretchy cheese: Sunny's Pizza Market

I visited Sunny's Pizza Market in Hongdae/Yeonnam, which has even been recognized by Blue Ribbon. Three consecutive years in the Blue Ribbon Survey and three in Red Ribbon—this was my first time at such a highly credentialed pizza place, so I was excited.

Hours are listed as daily 11:22:00, with a break from 14:00 to 17:00, and it is closed every Monday. Takeout and delivery are available, but parking is not.

It is right beside Gyeongui Line Forest Park, so it is perfectly located for dropping by during a date or day out. It would also be nice to take a walk in the park after eating and let the food settle!

There are more than 10 tables, and you can tell they put thought into the interior. It kind of felt like walking into a pizza place abroad (P). Delivery riders kept coming in, probably because there were so many orders, but when I visited around 7 p.m. on a weekday, I got in with no wait.

Considering this is Hongdae and Yeonnam, the pricing feels very reasonable. The price varies slightly depending on which half-and-half combination you choose.

I loved that you can customize the toppings on a half-and-half pizza however you want! I wanted to try the scallion shrimp one, butㅠㅠ it was already SOLD OUT by 7 p.m. on the day we went.

They also had a solid selection of sides and other menu items. The people at the next table were enjoying the classic oven pasta so much... If I come with a group, I definitely want to order the pasta too. 🍝

A self-service bar with practically everything

The self-service bar was so well set up. Usually you think, “It would be nice if they had this too~,” but Sunny's Pizza Market's bar has practically everything except what it does not have. Pickles, hot sauce, Parmesan sauce, crushed pepper, even plastic gloves...!!! The owner's thoughtfulness really shines through.

The idea of putting each sauce in little side-dish containers was so fresh and cute too. Garlic dipping sauce, Parmesan powder, and hot sauce—all my favorites—were unlimited, and I had to say the owner is the best! Of course, I only took what I could eat. Haha.

Even the tableware was cute, which made the food taste even better. 🍽️

Fresh-out-of-the-oven pizza has power... The pizza cheese stretched on and on. Cheese lovers absolutely have to visit here. There was seriously an enormous amount of cheese.

What is this amount of pizza cheese? It truly never ended. I felt like I got thoroughly schooled by cheese the entire time I ate the pizza, hahaha. It is definitely most delicious when you eat it hot and fresh from the restaurant.

The spicy pepperoni was a little hotter than regular pepperoni, so it cut through some of the richness. It is a menu item I will definitely order again next time.

You can pile on plenty of my favorite garlic dipping sauce too.

I added a cheese-crust edge too, but honestly, there was already so much pizza cheese that I thought I probably did not need to add the edge. Still, I recommend it for anyone who wants to dive completely into cheese, crust included. Haha.
