Seongdong hair salon for purple-brown gray coverage: Urban Ground
In short
Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch is a hair salon about one minute from Exit 4 of Sangwangsimni Station in Seongdong, Seoul. I received a purple-brown tone-down color and Metal DX clinic after a one-on-one consultation for gray coverage and unwanted yellow tones; the color looked more even after a week.

Before a trip, I wanted to change my hair color, so I visited Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch (어반그라운드헤어 상왕십리역점). I wanted a color that would naturally cover my gray hairs without making yellow tones stand out. The fact that one designer handled everything one-on-one, from consultation to shampoo and the service itself, was why I decided to visit.
How do you find the salon from Sangwangsimni Station?
It was about a one-minute walk from Exit 4 of Sangwangsimni Station. The salon is on the second floor of the VIP Building at 353 Wangsimni-ro, making it easy to reach by public transit. The hours listed in the original post are 10:00–20:00, and it is regularly closed every Monday. Naver reservations are also available.

What were the atmosphere and pre-service guidance like?
When I entered, my designer showed me to a dedicated locker. I took out a gown from the locker, put it on, and moved to the service seat. The white-toned interior was neatly arranged, which made the time there feel comfortable.

Once I was seated, they brought me a cold drink and simple refreshments. It was a hot day, and they also turned on a mini fan in front of my seat, so I could start the consultation more comfortably.

What color did I discuss for gray hairs and yellow tones?
I told my designer that I wanted natural gray coverage and a current-looking color that reduced yellow tones. After checking my hair condition and tone, they suggested purple-brown.
At first, I worried that purple might stand out too much. After the consultation, we decided to tone the overall color down while letting a subtle purple cast show depending on the light.

How did the color service and Metal DX clinic proceed?
Taking my scalp condition into account, they carefully applied the color product to my hair. They checked the timing as they worked so the color would extend evenly through to the roots.

Along with the color service, I also received a Metal DX clinic. It was explained as a treatment that removes metal buildup from the hair to reduce damage during coloring and help with color development and retention.

How did the purple-brown color and finishing blow-dry look?
After my hair was dried, it looked like a calm, toned-down brown indoors. Under indoor lighting or natural light, it had a subtle purple cast that matched what I had wanted in the consultation.
I also liked the finishing blow-dry. I usually restyle my hair as I leave a salon, but this time I was happy with the styling that considered my face shape and head shape, so I took several photos before leaving. I wanted to return when I next get a perm or haircut.

How did the color change one week later?
My designer explained that the roots could look relatively a little lighter right after the service, but that the overall tone would settle naturally after about a week.
When I took photos in natural light about a week later, the color looked much more natural and evenly settled. The subtle purple-brown also made my skin tone look brighter.

My hair was damaged and I was also concerned about gray hairs, but afterward it felt soft and did not feel any more damaged. I could communicate the direction I wanted to the same designer from beginning to end, and I was happy with both the finished color and styling.
