Seongdong hair salon red wine color: Urban Ground Hair

As my previous color faded, my hair became patchy in places and rough in texture. I felt that swimming was making the color fade faster and my hair coarser, so I went to Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch (어반그라운드헤어 상왕십리역점) for color and a treatment together.

How do you get there from Sangwangsimni Station, and is parking available?

The salon is on the second floor of the VIP Building at 353 Wangsimni-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. At the time of my visit, the listing said free parking and pets were allowed. Hours were listed as 10 AM–8 PM Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM–7 PM on Sunday, and closed on Mondays.

It is right near Exit 4 of Sangwangsimni Station on Line 2, so it was easy to find. Go up to the second floor of the building and you will see the entrance.

What were the waiting area and styling seats like?

When I entered, I was shown to a locker with my reservation name tag attached. It was nice that my seat had already been prepared. Autumn foliage decorations were placed around the lockers, the adjacent mirror, and the photo zone.

There was a waiting area by the window overlooking the main road. I put on a gown there and waited briefly.

The styling seats faced one another. The view through the large floor-to-ceiling windows made me think the service would not feel stuffy.

Hair products were displayed along one side, along with a simple price list for services.

Which service did I choose, and how was the membership explained?

There was pricing information for cuts, blow-dries, spa services, perms, color, and treatments. I chose a color-and-treatment set because I wanted to refresh both my color and hair texture.

The VIP membership caught my attention because it could be used with family or friends. It was listed as ₩330,000 in credit for VIP 30, ₩550,000 for VIP 50, and ₩880,000 for VIP 80, with validity for one year from enrollment.

I chose peach iced tea. They also prepared simple snacks, including a chocolate cookie I was trying for the first time, which I enjoyed.

How did the red wine color without bleaching proceed?

Before the service, much of the color had faded, leaving it uneven, and my damaged hair looked puffy. Since the color I wanted was clear, I finished the consultation with the designer quickly and went ahead with a red wine shade.

Before applying the color, they sprayed a scalp protectant and applied a hair nutrient treatment. Then they applied the dye.

I also took a photo when about half of the dye had been applied. Since the service was adding color without bleaching, I thought it would not turn out as intense as the shade I had chosen.

The designer worked quickly and soon applied color to the remaining sections. They spoke gently with me and were kind throughout.

What changed right after receiving color and treatment together?

Even without bleaching, the red wine color I wanted came out clearly. After receiving the treatment as well, my hair felt soft and smooth, looked glossy, and felt more put together overall. I was satisfied that the remaining perm at my ends also looked revived.

The shampoo and scalp massage also stood out. I tend to find it disappointing when shampooing is too gentle, but they washed every part of my scalp with firm pressure, which felt refreshing. After the service, I also received the stylist's business card.
