Some of my previous dye job remained in patches, so my hair looked uneven in the light. My hair was already damaged, so I had put off coloring it, but after a personal color consultation recommended dark hair for my Winter Deep cool tone, I decided to get toned-down color and a treatment together. That is how I found Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch (어반그라운드헤어 상왕십리역점).

Is this Seongdong hair salon easy to reach from Sangwangsimni Station?
The salon is on the second floor of a building on the main Wangsimni-ro road, within walking distance of Sangwangsimni Station on Subway Line 2. Its sign was visible from the main road, so it was easy to find in time for my appointment.

The neat exterior had the relaxed feel of a neighborhood hair salon, which made me feel at ease before I went in.

Free parking is listed as available. However, the number of spaces may vary, so it would be best to ask when booking. At the time of the original post, hours were 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, with regular closure on Mondays. Please confirm hours and closing days before visiting.
What was the salon atmosphere like during the service?
When I opened the door, there was a pleasant scent, and each drawer for storing belongings had the name of that day's booked guest on it. It was a small detail, but I liked that it felt prepared in advance.

Once I was seated, they brought me refreshments, and when I took out my laptop, they were considerate about making it easy for me to use. That was helpful while I received color and a treatment together.

Many customers came in just after work, but it did not feel hectic. I was able to receive the service comfortably.
How can I check the color, treatment, and package prices?
There were package options that combined care with coloring or perms. I received toned-down color and a treatment together.

Prices may vary depending on hair length, condition, and booking route. It is best to review the options on the booking page and confirm the actual service price during consultation.

How did the toned-down color and treatment go on damaged hair?
Before the service, my hair felt dry and rough, with traces of my previous color left in sparse patches. The designer understood the direction I wanted and adjusted the color during consultation.

I said that I wanted to keep my hair dark but planned to get married next year. Rather than complete black, we chose a shade described in the consultation as “around level 3,” and they adjusted the tone so it would fade gradually over time. I was satisfied that they considered both my personal color and wedding preparations.
They first sprayed on a product to protect my scalp, then spread the dye from outside the roots. I felt reassured by the order they used to keep the product from touching my scalp directly.

After coloring, I received a L'Oréal protein pack and treatment. The shampoo area was also comfortable.

Previously, I had felt that shampooing after color was not thorough enough and would sometimes have a sore scalp the next day. This time, I did not have that discomfort. I wondered whether it was thanks to the prior scalp care and thorough shampooing, but that is simply what I experienced during this visit.

How did my hair color and texture change afterward?
The service took a little over an hour by my estimate. My hair did not feel significantly more damaged after coloring; instead, it felt softer than before. I also liked that the remaining patches of old color were blended out, making the overall color more even.

They also took care with the finishing blow-dry, and the volume held well through the next day. As someone who had delayed coloring because of damaged hair, this visit let me tidy up both the color and my hair texture. I plan to return here for my next root touch-up.
