A jjamppong spot people rave about in Goyang — Seooreung's Jjamppong Jijeon, and the sujebi jjamppong is delicious

What kind of place is Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch?

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a place I visit often whenever I'm craving jjamppong in Goyang. It's got great service and great food, and it's such a well-known Chinese restaurant in this area that I don't think there's anyone around here who doesn't know it.

It's a proper jjamppong destination — there's even a wait on weekends — and true to the name Jjamppong Jijeon ("jjamppong supreme"), the jjamppong here is really tasty and comes in enough varieties to make choosing fun. But whenever I visit, I always end up ordering the sujebi jjamppong (hand-torn dough dumpling jjamppong) — it's so chewy and delicious.

The broth is nice and spicy, so mixing in a bowl of rice at the end to make jjamppong-bap is pure gold. This Goyang jjamppong spot has no parking worries either, and it's great for group gatherings or work dinners.

What we ordered: sujebi jjamppong, jijeon jjajangmyeon, Chinese cold noodles and jjamppong mandu

Jjamppong Jijeon's menu is varied, but jjamppong is a must-order here. From the menu, we ordered sujebi jjamppong, jijeon jjajangmyeon, and Chinese cold noodles, which are only available in summer. We also got a taster order of jjamppong fried mandu (dumplings) — another dish you absolutely have to try.

Open from 7 AM in Goyang

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch operates from 7 AM to 10 PM. Since it opens early, it's great for a morning hangover-cure meal too. It's such a famous jjamppong spot in Goyang that even celebrities are said to frequent it.

Is Jjamppong Jijeon good with kids?

Jjajangmyeon is definitely a kid's favorite menu item! With kids' chairs and kids' tableware available, it's a good place to visit with little ones.

Free rice refills, the self-bar and dessert ice cream

There's a lot of great service here — free unlimited rice refills, for one. Isn't that amazing?

On top of that, there are side dishes and drinks, plus dessert ice cream on your way out! The service here was so good that I want to come back, and if you're visiting Starfield Goyang, it's worth swinging by on the same trip.

There's a good variety of basic side dishes, and you can grab more from the self-bar as needed.

You order through the screen, and the Sichuan sweet and sour pork here is also delicious. Overall, everything on the menu is tasty!

How was the sujebi jjamppong?

This dish swaps in sujebi (hand-torn dough dumplings) for noodles in the jjamppong, and it's a favorite of mine — I finished it off with rice mixed in at the end. The spice level is selectable; I went with regular, and it was just right.

This dish is Chinese-style cold noodles, a summer-only item, and it's tangy and spicy.

Jijeon jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles)

Jijeon jjajangmyeon is the kids' favorite dish — and the portion is bigger than you'd expect.

Taster fried jjamppong mandu

And then the taster mandu — jjamppong mandu. Packed full of spicy filling inside, and so tasty. I kept thinking about ordering more.

Looking at the Chinese cold noodles, they're loaded with various toppings and noodles! This dish is oddly addictive — a totally different flavor from regular cold noodles.

Next up, the sujebi jjamppong, spicy and full of flavor with plenty of ingredients — the sujebi has a chewier texture than noodles, and eating it with the broth is pure art.

How to make the jjamppong taste even better

Every single ingredient is well-prepped, so it was easy to eat, and there's one more trick to make Jjamppong Jijeon's jjamppong even tastier!

Adding bean sprouts makes it even more special. At the end, I mixed in rice and finished it off neatly — with free rice refills and a generous jjamppong portion, it's great value.
