Goyang Korean restaurant near Samsong Library for dombe pork before hagwon: Jeju Eunhui-ne
In short
Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch is a haejangguk (hangover soup) and dombe pork restaurant near Samsong Library in Goyang, Gyeonggi. The writer stopped in with her son before his hagwon (after-school academy) class, ordering a medium dombe pork platter that arrived right after ordering and a haejangguk packed with enough ingredients to feel filling with just a little rice. It's an easy pick even with a kid who won't touch soup.

Hi, this is Kaljjun! After my son finished school we read together at the library before his hagwon (after-school academy) class, and I figured I'd fill him up with something solid before sending him off, so I stopped by a haejangguk spot in Samsong. The mornings and evenings have been getting cooler lately, which puts me in the mood for hot soup.

Close to Samsong Library, easy parking
This haejangguk restaurant is close to Samsong Library, and you can park right in the building, so there's no parking stress. Sometimes a place is amazing but has terrible parking, and since I default to driving, I just don't go.
Parking is easy, and beyond haejangguk there's a range of menu items, so even a kid who won't eat haejangguk or offal soup can just order dombe pork instead — makes eating out with my son so much easier. I get something spicy and rich, he gets something mild~!

We ordered a medium dombe pork and one haejangguk
They have set menus too, but my son doesn't eat soup and eats a ton of meat, so we ordered a medium dombe pork and one haejangguk.

They give you seokbakji (diced radish kimchi) and peppers, and the seokbakji is genuinely delicious.

The dombe pork comes out right after you order
The dombe pork came out fast first. It really did arrive right after we ordered, which made this the perfect spot for my family since we don't like waiting.
When you're eating out with a kid, places that only have spicy food or soup menus can make choosing tricky, but dombe pork was a relatively easy pick for him. It came cut into bite-sized pieces, easy for him to pick up one by one, and it went well with rice too.

I tried a bite too — the meat was so soft and tender~ exactly the style kids love.

The haejangguk broth and ingredients
This is the haejangguk I picked. I usually like soupy dishes, so I searched for haejangguk in Samsong and ended up here — the menu turned out simpler than I expected, which actually made choosing easier. Haejangguk is the kind of dish where you mix in rice with the hot broth, so it made for a solid, filling meal.

Maybe because we had a kid with us, they asked if I wanted the dadaegi (chili paste seasoning) left out. Really kind of them, which made eating with my son feel comfortable. But when I asked him, he wasn't eating it anyway, so I just added the dadaegi and ate it myself.

There were so many ingredients that I felt full without eating much rice. Plus, ordering one dish per person gets you free extra rice and broth, which makes this a really filling haejangguk spot in Samsong.

I mixed a little rice into the haejangguk bit by bit as I ate, and the seasoning wasn't too strong, which suited my taste. Eating it alongside the side dishes, I finished the bowl pretty quickly.

A place worth remembering if you're with a kid
On my way out I noticed one wall covered in celebrity autographs. Must be a famous haejangguk spot in Samsong among celebrities too.
If you're looking for a simple but filling meal around Samsong, this haejangguk menu is worth considering. If you like haejangguk like I do, you can get a hearty bowl of hot broth, and if you're with a kid, you can order something easier for them like dombe pork alongside it.
If you're looking for a place to eat with your kid in Samsong, or craving hot soup on a chilly day, I'll keep this one in mind. That day, my son and I enjoyed the haejangguk and dombe pork at Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch, and once again left with a full, satisfying meal.
