Gangnam café with four desserts on the terrace: Something About Coffee
In short
Something About Coffee is a dessert café spread over three floors in an alley off Gangnam-daero 102-gil, between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul. From a terrace seat we ordered fig fresh cream cake, matcha cream cold brew, americano, egg cookie and salted chocolate financier all at once and shared them, and the sweet and sweet-salty bites worked well alternating with the coffee. On a day when coffee alone feels like too little, Something About Coffee is a Gangnam café where you can pick desserts too.

I was looking for a nice-vibed café in Gangnam and ended up at "Something About Coffee" ☕️🤎 There are so many cafés in Gangnam that it's always hard to pick one, but this place had a good variety of desserts and looked like it had a nice atmosphere, so I went. It turned out to be exactly the kind of place for days when coffee alone just isn't enough — you get to enjoy sweet desserts too!

Where Something About Coffee is and what the building looks like

Something About Coffee sits in the alley off Gangnam-daero102-gil, an easy walk from both Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station. First, the exterior! So much mood, right? Right from the entrance you get that café-specific charm, and it catches your eye even just walking by.
It felt clean but not overly styled, so it was easy to walk right in. It's also in a convenient spot if you're meeting someone in Gangnam, so it'd be great for a date or a hangout with friends haha. If you're looking for a Gangnam Station café or a Sinnonhyeon Station café, I highly recommend this one!
Inside floors 1 to 3 and the terrace seats

The inside of Something About Coffee is pretty spacious, and it looks like it goes up to the 3rd floor!

Overall it had a warm, comfortable atmosphere, so it was nice for chatting over coffee.
There are tables spread across several spots, so it works well for 2-3 people, and it also seemed like a good place for a bigger group to order a bunch of desserts and share.

Oh, and they have terrace seats! The weather's been so nice lately, right? So we sat right down on the terrace hahaha.

What's in the dessert showcase
One thing I always pay attention to at a café is the dessert showcase haha. Something About Coffee's showcase had all kinds of desserts lined up, so I spent a good while deciding what to get as soon as we walked in.

From cakes to baked pastries, the variety is huge — this is a place where you come for coffee and end up ordering dessert too, lol.
The four desserts we ordered at Something About Coffee

Here's what we ordered:
- Fig cream cake
- Matcha cream cold brew, americano
- Egg cookie
- Salted chocolate financier
That's what we got! Once everything landed on the table one by one, it turned out to be way more than expected, so it became a full-on dessert time lol.

Fig fresh cream cake
First up, the fig cake! With figs on top, it looked pretty from the get-go, and both the cake and the cream were soft, making it easy to enjoy together. The fig's subtle sweetness paired really well with the soft cake. Since it's a fruit-based cake, it went well with coffee too.

Matcha cream cold brew
Next, the matcha cream cold brew! If you like matcha, this one will catch your eye haha. It had matcha's slightly bitter, creamy edge plus the clean coffee taste of cold brew, so it went great alongside the desserts. Eating only sweet desserts can get a bit much after a while, but having coffee on hand made it perfect to alternate between the two.

Egg cookie and salted chocolate financier
The egg cookie and the salted chocolate financier! At first glance it looked like an egg tart, so I naturally assumed it was one lol. But true to its name, it's actually a cookie-style dessert, with its own charm that's different from an egg tart. The outside was nutty and crisp while the inside was soft, so it went well with coffee. The financier had that signature nutty flavor plus a salty kick — that sweet-and-salty combo was a perfect match with coffee.

Wrap-up: what kind of day suits Something About Coffee
Something About Coffee turned out to be a great Gangnam café for enjoying coffee and dessert together. With fruit-based cakes like the fig cake alongside the matcha cream cold brew, egg cookie, and salty financier, there was plenty of variety to have fun choosing.
If you're visiting with a group, it'd be great for everyone to pick one thing each and share!!!! If you're looking for a café in Gangnam where you can enjoy dessert along with your coffee, give Something About Coffee a try ☕️🤎
