Yeonnam-dong solo brunch café: jambon croissant and soup at Jam Jam

Today's post is a review of solo brunch at Jam Jam in Yeonnam. The food here is great, but honestly the second I walked in, the space itself put me in a good mood.

It feels less like a café and more like a hip concept store. Same food somehow tastes better when you're eating it in a pretty space, right? Haha. The food was so good that next time I want to come back with friends and order a bunch of different menu items — this was a Yeonnam-dong brunch café worth returning to.

Inside Jam Jam: a café that looks like a concept store

The moment I walked in I was like, whoa, what is this place... Personally, Jam Jam felt less like the typical warm, cozy brunch café and more like something genuinely hip. It felt more like walking into a concept store than a café.

There was fun in just wandering around and looking at the space too. I visited alone that day, and eating brunch solo in such a pretty space felt good in its own way.

You can check the menu right at the entrance! The menu board uses photos, which made choosing easy 🥰. Jam Jam says it features seasonal vegetables and fruit in its distinctive brunch menu, so browsing the menu board was fun in itself, haha.

What one person can order at Jam Jam, and the prices

Since I came alone, I ordered: Jambon Croissant ₩15,000 Mushroom Soup ₩9,500 Iced Americano ₩5,000 There's pasta on the menu too, not just brunch dishes, so it could also be a good spot if you're looking for pasta in Yeonnam-dong.

Jambon croissant, ₩15,000

First up, the jambon croissant! A hefty croissant with jambon (ham) inside. Since I came for brunch, I wanted at least one bread dish, so I picked this.

Croissant plus jambon is a combo that's hard to mess up, haha. One bite in and I already knew I'd picked well. This was the point where I started regretting not being able to order more dishes since I was solo, lol.

Drizzle on the maple syrup that comes with it and the sweet-salty combo is insane...

And honestly, even this plain-looking sausage on the side was genuinely delicious. Jam Jam's sausage is on another level.

Mushroom soup, ₩9,500: the Jam Jam dish nobody had reviewed

And honestly, this was the dish I was most curious about that day. Mushroom soup! I'd looked up quite a few reviews before visiting Jam Jam, and oddly enough, almost none of them mentioned the soup. So was it actually good...? Did I order it for nothing...? Half curious, half worried, I ordered it anyway.

Conclusion: so glad I ordered it, haha. If you just keep eating jambon croissant on its own, it can start to feel a bit rich, but a bite of mushroom soup in between paired with it perfectly. It wasn't just two dishes that happened to be good separately — the combination together was the real win.

A bite of croissant, a spoonful of soup, back and forth, over and over, haha. I ordered it as a bit of a gamble since there were no reviews beforehand, but personally it was a total success. If you order the jambon croissant, I'd definitely recommend pairing it with the mushroom soup.

And then throw in a sip of iced Americano on top of that... pure bliss, haha. Jambon croissant, followed by mushroom soup, finished off with a cold iced Americano. For a solo order, it was a genuinely perfect combination.

Is Yeonnam-dong brunch at Jam Jam fine on your own?

Looking back on it, coming for solo brunch turned out to be pretty great too. Picking exactly what I wanted to eat and enjoying it slowly in a pretty space felt like a little solo healing session :) There's this assumption that you need to bring someone along to a Yeonnam-dong brunch café, but ordering solo the way I did here was honestly not bad at all.

And I really can't help mentioning the space one more time... it's so pretty. Eating good food is already great, but sitting in such a pretty space while doing it makes the mood even better, haha.

It would also work well for brunch with friends or a date. Since dogs are welcome, it's also a solid option for anyone looking for a dog-friendly spot in Yeonnam-dong.

This visit to Jam Jam was pretty and delicious enough that it felt like proper solo healing after a while :) Going solo was great, but next time I want to come with friends and spread out a bunch of different dishes.
