Hongdae Hwadeok Pizza is a wood-fired pizza and pasta restaurant on Dokmak-ro 7-gil near Hapjeong Station. I was looking up good restaurants in Hongdae and was craving pizza and pasta in Hapjeong, so I came here! haha It's been in the same spot for over 10 years now haha. It's known as a famous date spot and date course, and the interior is so stylish it's basically a mood restaurant!!

So many people have been here. Seeing all the Polaroid photos on the wall made me realize this is a place a lot of people have visited hahaha.

With the clean wood interior and dim lighting, if you're wondering where to go on a date, I'd recommend this place! It's not noisy at all, so I'd recommend it as a mood date spot.

What we ordered at Hongdae Hwadeok Pizza and the total bill

At Hongdae Hwadeok Pizza we ordered the Quattro Stagioni pizza for 26,000 won, the Gamberi Crema shrimp cream pasta for 18,500 won, and a zero cola for 4,000 won, coming to 48,500 won total. There's a huge menu here. You can even choose half-and-half pizza, mixing two or four flavors in one pizza, which I thought was really great hahaha.

[Pickles & Honey] They gave us pickles and honey. The pickles were really tasty, I think they might make them in-house!

How the Quattro Stagioni pizza and Gamberi Crema pasta taste

[Quattro Stagioni pizza] I ordered this because I wanted to taste four flavors at once! Everything looked so good that I just went with all four haha. Really glad I made that choice, heh!

[Gamberi Crema shrimp cream pasta] It felt like a shrimp rosé cream pasta. But it's slightly spicy, which cuts through the richness of the cream haha. I really made a good menu choice haha.

Ate the pickles too haha. If you run low on pickles you can get a refill, so don't worry and dig in~~!!

They put big chunky shrimp on top of the cream pasta too haha.

Why the chewy wood-fired dough is the highlight

Wow, the dough is so good! How do I put it — chewy and dense? So chewy! The best.

Even touching it with my fingers, it's really chewy... I want to learn the secret recipe hahaha.

They even gave us tons of shrimp haha, so I piled more shrimp onto the pasta and ate a lot hahaha.

Margherita pizza! With a not-too-strong sauce and that chewy dough baked in the wood-fired oven, it was even more delicious!! I need to come back and try other pizzas too haha.
