Lately, curling my lashes and putting on mascara every morning has been quietly getting on my nerves, so this time I went to Almond Eyelashes (아몬드속눈썹) :)

I was a little nervous because it was my first visit, but the atmosphere was more comfortable than I expected, so it did not feel intimidating. Best of all, since I came with a reservation, I did not have a long wait.

The interior was clean and cozy overall, so I felt at ease as soon as I entered. Rather than feeling overly large or complicated, it had the quiet, calm atmosphere unique to a private one-person studio. It also did not feel burdensome for a treatment like a lash lift, where you need to lie down with your eyes closed for quite a while.

The treatment area in particular was tidily organized, which gave me the sense that hygiene was taken seriously, and the setup let me lie comfortably on the treatment bed.

The overall interior was not flashy but clean and feminine, so it was nice for taking photos too. More than anything, I liked that this was not a large beauty shop bustling with other customers; I could receive the treatment quietly, one-on-one.

How did we choose a curl for my eye shape?

First, they checked my eye shape and the condition of my natural lashes, then we discussed the curl and overall look I wanted. With a lash lift, it is important to choose a curl that suits your eyes rather than simply lifting everything as high as possible, right? So I explained the look I wanted, discussed the curl with the owner, and then the treatment began.

• ① Cleansing around the eyes: First, they thoroughly cleaned the area around my eyes and removed oil or any residue left on my lashes.
• ② Curl design consultation: I described the style I wanted, and we chose a curl based on my current lash length and eye shape.
• ③ Rod placement and lash arrangement: They attached rods to suit my eye shape, then arranged and secured every single lash. This step turned out to be more important than I thought. The lash direction needs to be set carefully for the finished curl to look pretty!
• ④ Perm solution application: They applied the perm solution according to the condition of my lashes and let it sit to create the curl. I could keep my eyes closed and relax during the treatment, so I almost fell asleep haha.
• ⑤ Finishing: Lastly, they removed the rods and tidied up my lashes, and that was it!

More defined eyes with a natural curl

When it was finished and I looked in the mirror, my eyes definitely felt more defined.

I was especially satisfied because I will not need to curl my lashes separately in the morning, so I think my makeup routine will take less time. Instead of looking overly bent, the curl lifted in a way that suited my eye shape, so it looked natural. If your lashes droop downward and make your eyes look closed-in, I think a lash lift alone could change your overall impression quite a bit.
