A grilled-fish restaurant by Iho Tewoo Beach, close to Jeju Airport

Just 10 minutes from Jeju International Airport!! I heard there was a great grilled-fish place right in front of Iho Tewoo Beach, so off I went!! I picked up my car and headed straight over, so it was super close. I definitely recommend picking up your car at the airport and coming right here.

They sell all kinds of fish! From grilled hairtail and Atka mackerel to Spanish mackerel, unlike other grilled-fish places, they cook them directly in a charcoal oven!!!!!!! Best of all, everything comes out as a neat full-table spread, so you can enjoy a tidy individual set meal.

Ocean views by the beach and a self bar

Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Bansang Jeju Iho Tewoo Branch is a newly opened restaurant that opened in July!!! There is plenty of parking, and above all, it sits right in front of the beach, so it is an ocean-view gem!

The self bar has scorched rice, steamed rice, side dishes, and fried eggs for you to help yourself to!

You can fry your own eggs!! Of course I had to make and enjoy some self-serve fried eggs. Yum yum.

And yes, there are baby chairs. Grilled-fish restaurants are the best for family meals.

With baby chairs available, it is perfect as a family restaurant. Grilled hairtail and grilled fish make Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Bansang wonderful for a family meal!

I fried up two eggs~~~ A little oil, then swoosh swoosh with the self-serve fried eggs.

You can also have steamed rice and scorched rice as many times as you like! The braised hairtail was so delicious that I got one more refill of rice.

I ate while looking out at the ocean view. Ahh, now it really feels like I am in Jeju.

There is a parking lot behind the restaurant! If there is no space there, you can park in the open lot in front, so keep that in mind.

The rich sauce of the charcoal-oven braised hairtail set meal

I ordered the charcoal-oven braised hairtail set meal.

I debated what to get, but Jeju means hairtail!! I had eaten plenty of grilled dishes lately, so I chose something braised instead! The braised hairtail had three pieces of fish and radish in a nicely reduced sauce.

The reduced sauce and the soft, fluffy radish went so well with rice ㅠㅠㅠ I really did refill my rice twice. That is how intensely flavorful the sauce was.

You absolutely have to mix the braised-hairtail broth, fish, and rice together, right?

The side dishes come in just the right amount for a set meal! If you need more, you can refill them separately at the self bar. I heard the self-bar side dishes change every day.

Big chunks of hairtail and that sauce too—this really is heaven for a Korean home-style meal.

Everyone, please make sure you try the radish! Its gentle sweetness goes so well with the sauce! I only got to try the braised dish, but apparently the owner grills the fish directly in the charcoal oven! Proper, truly charcoal-oven grilled fish.

Even as I am writing this, I am thinking about that thick, spicy, savory sauce.
