When you travel around Jeju Island, you head home with both hands full of gifts, right?! And I think Jeju omegi-tteok is what most people prefer to buy on the last day of their trip!! So I’m recommending a rice cake shop near Jeju Airport! I visited Suragan Tteokbang (수라간떡방), a great spot for Jeju omegi-tteok. It is an easy stop near the airport for anyone looking for delicious omegi-tteok before flying out :)

Outside the shop

Suragan Tteokbang, known for Jeju omegi-tteok, is near Jeju Airport. It was just right for a final-day stop at a rice cake shop before my flight.

There is parking space in front of the shop, but if it is full, you will need to park at a nearby public parking lot before visiting!

Inside the shop

The neat interior of Suragan Tteokbang, a Jeju omegi-tteok favorite! Along with omegi-tteok, a Jeju specialty, it sells many other kinds of rice cake too.

The shop follows a made-and-sold-the-same-day policy, so if you reserve before visiting, you can pick up your rice cakes quickly.

They make the rice cakes right inside the shop, and I could even see the cooking area. It really showed how much care the owner puts into cleanliness!
How can you buy omegi-tteok?

A 20-piece box with a variety of omegi-tteok flavors

Today, today~~ I ordered Suragan Tteokbang’s 20-piece omegi-tteok box for ₩22,000 :)
Suragan Tteokbang has a wide range of omegi-tteok flavors, including tangerine, barley, black sesame, soybean powder, nuts, and red bean.

It came in a lovely premium box, so it was easy to carry with me when I got on the plane~~

Rather than all the rice cakes being loose together in one box, each omegi-tteok was individually wrapped. That made it easy to take out only what I needed and store the rest!

Since the omegi-tteok is individually wrapped, it is hygienic and easy to share when several people are eating together—and perfect for gifting.

If there had only been red-bean omegi-tteok, I might have gotten tired of it as I ate, but being able to buy so many flavors made the omegi-tteok even more enjoyable.

After flying from Jeju to the mainland, I ate them at home with my parents, and the omegi-tteok was wonderfully chewy!! Suragan Tteokbang sells many kinds of rice cake besides omegi-tteok, so lots of locals seemed to come by to buy rice cakes too!!

My parents loved them and said they were so delicious!! They are not just overly sweet; their light, nutty flavor comes together beautifully, making them easy for adults to enjoy too.

The outside is generously coated in nutty, sweet red-bean powder, while the rice cake inside is chewy yet soft, with a subtle sweetness that develops as you chew.
