In short

Nahonsha is a solo shabu-shabu restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 6 or Sangsu Station Exit 4. The spicy broth shabu costs 14,900 won, and this solo meal at Nahonsha added vegetables for 3,500 won, meat for 5,000 won, and a side of sujebi (hand-torn dough flakes) at the end. Today I'm introducing a Hapjeong/Sangsu shabu-shabu restaurant, Nahonsha (나혼샤) (❁´▽`❁)

How to get to Nahonsha in Hapjeong, and its hours

Nahonsha is at 362-1 Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and it's open Mon 11:30–21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 18:00, last order at 14:30 and 20:30. It opens at 12:00 on Saturdays, and it's closed every Sunday.

Nahonsha, this Hapjeong/Sangsu solo shabu-shabu spot, is a 5-minute walk from both Hapjeong Station Exit 6 and Sangsu Station Exit 4, so it's right by the stations.

The exterior, with all its greenery and its stylish brick-house feel, caught my eye, and inside it had soft lighting and a clean, upscale atmosphere I really liked ෆ

True to the name Nahonsha (literally "eating shabu alone"), there were plenty of solo seats, which made enjoying a one-person shabu so much nicer. Note: I took these photos on purpose right before closing after I'd already eaten, so it's empty — during lunch and dinner it gets busy, just so you know ~.~

Nahonsha menu, prices and broth choices

The price range is a very reasonable mid-teens thousand won per person !! 💵✨✨ It's not just clear broth and spicy broth — there's also miso, mala, and tomato broth, plus sukiyaki, so lots of variety haha

The difference between the solo sukiyaki and the solo special sukiyaki is that the special version adds a meat topping, 2 eggs, and a bowl of rice ✅

Here's the menu board for reference 🫶🏻 I personally love dumpling soup noodles (sujebi), and they were on the extra-noodle list, so I added them right away ~~~ !! So happy (❁´▽`❁) Unfortunately I visited late in the evening so the egg porridge was sold out — sad, since it's basically a shabu must-order 🥺

What comes with the 14,900-won spicy broth shabu set

Ta-da~~ this is the spicy broth shabu (₩14,900) I ordered 🧡 The base set comes with broth, vegetables (all kinds of mushrooms, tofu, bean sprouts, bok choy, carrot, zucchini, napa cabbage, etc.) and kalguksu noodles haha. Pretty generous 🙊

The left is the base set, and the right is after I added vegetables and meat! Vegetable add-on is ₩3,500 and meat add-on is ₩5,000, so use this photo as a reference for the portion size when you add on. There's also pickled radish (rakkyo) as a side dish.

First, I loaded up on veggies and mushrooms and set the heat to level 5 to bring it to a boil — I love these water dumplings (mandu) so much, and I was thrilled they came included in the base set 🥟

Once the veggies had wilted down a bit and it was boiling hard, I dropped in a generous helping of meat too — doesn't the beef look amazing (❁´▽`❁) 🧡🧡

How the meat and spicy broth tasted at Nahonsha

Nahonsha's spicy broth was great — the vegetables and mushrooms were fresh, and especially the beef quality was good, tender with no gamey smell at all, so delicious ,, 🤤🤤 !! Honestly the broth is the most important part of shabu-shabu, and the spicy broth itself was so tasty I was completely satisfied ..🖤

Finishing the pot with sujebi and kalguksu noodles

When the meat was almost gone, I added the sujebi and kalguksu noodles and ate them together — seriously delicious .. The chewy sujebi and soft kalguksu noodles with the spicy, tangy broth were the perfect combo ,, Definitely try the sujebi — chewy and so tasty 🫶🏻

Nahonsha's 4+4 coupon event for repeat visits

They're also running a 4+4 coupon event — on your 4th visit you get either 40g of meat or one popular topping free, and on your 8th visit a free single shabu set — so grab a coupon. They also had individually wrapped disposable toothpicks and fabric deodorizer spray for after the meal, such a thoughtful touch ෆ

True to its name, Nahonsha's main Hapjeong location is optimized for eating shabu-shabu alone, with a great atmosphere, fresh vegetable and meat toppings, and above all a broth so delicious I left fully satisfied! 🧡

If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere date spot near Hapjeong Station, or a Hapjeong/Sangsu shabu-shabu restaurant, and you're a solo-dining lover and a shabu-shabu lover like me, I highly recommend Nahonsha ˚ෆ*₊
