Naei-dong loach soup restaurant, Milyang: ₩18,000 set, Ilpum Irojeong
In short
Ilpum Irojeong is a loach soup and Korean set-menu restaurant on Baekmin-ro in Naei-dong, Milyang, Gyeongnam. Visiting with family of three, the writer ordered three atka mackerel and pork loach soup sets (₩18,000 each), which arrived with loach soup in sanghwang mushroom broth, turmeric rice, one grilled atka mackerel per person, side dishes and fried loach. The pork at Ilpum Irojeong was especially moist and tender, so any set that includes pork is worth ordering.

Where is Ilpum Irojeong, and is there parking?
Ilpum Irojeong is a loach soup and Korean set-menu restaurant on the 1st floor of the Beomchang Building, 75-1 Baekmin-ro, Milyang, Gyeongnam — in Naei-dong. It's open daily 11:00–21:00, with a break time from 15:30 to 17:00.
There was parking space right in front of the restaurant, so parking was easy!

I visited Ilpum Irojeong, a really famous loach soup spot in Milyang! The day I went it was completely full!!!!!! This Milyang Korean restaurant has waiting lines!

Can groups and families eat here? Private rooms and the self-serve bar
The main hall at Ilpum Irojeong was mostly 4-person tables, but if a group comes, tables can be pushed together for group dining! It's a Naei-dong restaurant in Milyang that welcomes group visits.

There were also private room seats, where you could dine privately toward the back. I'd recommend Ilpum Irojeong for family meals in Milyang! I actually visited for a family dinner too haha.

There was a self-serve bar set up, so side dish refills were available, plus a dessert corner. It was a great Milyang restaurant for older family members to eat comfortably.
Ilpum Irojeong menu and the price of the atka mackerel and pork loach soup set
Beyond loach soup, Ilpum Irojeong is also famous as a Milyang Korean set-menu restaurant. There's sanghwang loach soup, pork and loach soup set, atka mackerel and pork loach soup set, and mackerel and pork loach soup set, among other soup and set menu options.
There are also individual dishes like boiled pork, grilled atka mackerel, grilled mackerel, assorted fried loach, potato pancake, octopus seafood pancake, pork cutlet, and Korean beef seaweed soup! Drinks include soju, beer, makgeolli (rice wine), and sodas. I ordered the atka mackerel and pork loach soup set (₩18,000) three times.

What comes with three atka mackerel and pork loach soup sets
The atka mackerel and pork loach soup set (₩18,000), ordered three times, came with wholesome loach soup, pork, grilled atka mackerel, and a whole bunch of other side dishes — super generous!! It's a loach soup spot, but I'd recommend it as a Milyang Korean set-menu restaurant too!

Since it's a set menu including grilled atka mackerel, you get one whole fish per person! Grilled fish over white rice is so good hahaha.

The side dishes served at Ilpum Irojeong
The basic side dishes were the kind you keep reaching for, which made it a really nice Milyang family meal! Napa cabbage kimchi, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), cucumber-chili, and salad.

And there was fried loach, diced radish kimchi, and wood ear mushroom too! All the extra sides were great, which made it feel like a really solid Milyang set-menu restaurant.

Loach soup in sanghwang mushroom broth with turmeric rice
Ilpum Irojeong's loach soup comes with healthy turmeric rice. My parents love loach soup and really enjoyed it haha.

Rich, savory loach soup, piping hot — pure nourishing comfort food that filled me right up! The flavor was clean and mild yet deep at the same time.

Generous portions and good for your health too! According to the menu description, they use a broth brewed from sanghwang mushroom, so it's an even healthier loach soup. Seeing my parents enjoy it so much made me really happy.

How was the boiled pork (suyuk)?
I thought the pork would be just so-so, but it turned out to be surprisingly amazing at Ilpum Irojeong!!!!!! This place is seriously a pork spot too. My parents said it was so good and really ate it up hahahahaha.

Moist and tender yet still warm — the pork was so good I kept eating more haha. The ssamjang (dipping sauce) was so tasty we refilled it and finished it all off haha. If you visit Irojeong, definitely order a set menu with pork!!

Why Ilpum Irojeong works for a family meal in Milyang
Ilpum Irojeong is a delicious and wholesome Milyang Korean set-menu restaurant! The pork was great and all the side dishes were neatly prepared, so I'd highly recommend it for a family meal in Milyang! This Milyang restaurant was really good!
