Apgujeong Rodeo hair salon tone-down dye while pregnant: Biorn Hair
In short
Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo is a hair salon in Gangnam, Seoul, a five-minute walk from Exit 6 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station. A customer in her second trimester had a tone-down dye in a dark color that fades little, and the deputy director added a scalp scaling as well, in case any dye was left on the scalp. The grown-out roots looked neat and settled afterwards and the hair felt softer, making it a satisfying visit.

A friendly, skilled hair salon on Apgujeong Rodeo — Biorn Hair
Summer's gone and there's definitely a cool autumn breeze now. Why is it that every year around this time I get the urge for a tone-down dye job haha. With fall setting in, I wanted to calm down my overly bright hair color, so I went to Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo, whose dye reviews had been really good!
Plus, I'm a pregnant woman who just got past her first trimester, so I was worried since I'd heard dye might not be great for pregnant people ㅠㅠㅠ. But when I asked my OB, my doctor said it's fine to get it done in the second trimester at a place that uses safe dye! Bottom line — so glad I did it!!! Here's my Biorn Hair tone-down dye review as a pregnant customer~~
Where is Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo, and is there parking?

Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo is only a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station, so it's super accessible, and since it's right inside Apgujeong Rodeo Street there's plenty to do around it after your appointment — the location is honestly perfect haha.

Leave your car with the valet on the 1st floor, walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor, and Biorn Hair is right there!

Since it's located near Apgujeong Rodeo Station, which a lot of foreign travelers visit, there were plenty of English introduction materials around! I heard that word has spread and quite a few foreign customers come here too :)
Before the dye: grown-out roots and faded color

I tried to take a before photo in natural light so it'd show clearly! What bugged me most was how the roots had grown out messily after a few months, ㅠㅠ and the color had faded and gotten so light over time that my face looked kind of washed out. My goal with this dye job was a calm, tone-down look that felt put-together!

My hair, all messy, right before the dye session.. hahahaha
Inside Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo

You feel how clean it is the moment you walk in! The salon was pretty spacious, and the bright interior tone made everything look tidy just at a glance haha.

What stood out to me was that there were several recently published famous magazines laid out. Usually if a salon isn't managed well, you find really old magazines lying around, or these days it's hard to even find a salon that has magazines at all — but Biorn Hair had neatly arranged new magazines from August. I found that personally really impressive.

Tone-down dye consultation and process for a pregnant customer
I liked that Biorn Hair asked in detail exactly what I needed before starting! I asked for a clean, calm tone-down color, and since I have no plans to dye again before giving birth, I requested as dark a color as possible with minimal fading.
As the treatment started, they gave me some delicious drinks and snacks! Since I'm pregnant, I had iced tea instead of my usual Americano~~

They applied the dye thoroughly and carefully. Waiting until it was time to shampoo, I could feel the color getting darker and darker!

Scalp scaling added after the dye
The shampoo room at Biorn Hair had plenty of seats, so even though there were a lot of customers, I got to use it right away, no waiting, in comfort! What really touched me was that, since I'm pregnant, the deputy director did scalp scaling on top of everything else, worried that even a little dye residue might be left on my scalp ㅠㅠㅠ I was truly moved ♥ It felt like a water flosser for the scalp — so much cleaner and fresher, and I loved it.

Hair that's gone dark black at a glance! hahaha

Color and hair texture after the tone-down dye
I thought it was just my imagination that my hair felt better after the dye, but even after I got home and shampooed it, it was softer than my usual hair texture? Not sure why, but maybe because it's a dark color, any damaged strands are less visible, so it feels that way too!

I was so satisfied all the way to the end of the treatment at Biorn Hair! I'd already seen good reviews of Biorn Hair for dyes and perms alike haha. If you're looking for a hair salon around Apgujeong Rodeo Station, I fully recommend Biorn Hair :)
