Apgujeong hair salon 5-step clinic, private-room scalp massage: Biorn

In short

Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo is a Gangnam hair salon about 89m from Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 5. Designer Jisu ran a 5-step inner clinic — high-molecular keratin application, heat treatment, mist and coating — and the writer finished with a scalp massage and rinse in a private single room with a massage chair. The scalp massage and finishing steps were satisfying at Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo, though the clinic product felt lightly applied on the inner and back sections of the hair.

Hi, this is Gwangpal! I visited Biorn Hair Apgujeong. I got an inner clinic treatment from designer Jisu, so let's get into the review. No time to waste, let's go.

This time I got the inner clinic treatment from designer Jisu at Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo.

Where is Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo and how do you get there?

This visit was to Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo. It's close enough to Apgujeong Rodeo Station that getting there by public transit is pretty convenient. The salon is at 8 Seolleung-ro 161-gil, 3F, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Coming out of Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 5, it's only about 89m away, so it's basically right there. If you come out of Exit 6 instead, the route is a bit different — go into the alley by the first 7-Eleven on your left, walk straight for about 70m, then head to the back of the Jangseongwon Watch building on your left and go up to the 3rd floor. If you need parking, valet is available — just request it at the lot next to the building stairs.

What does the Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo salon look like inside?

The interior of Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo was spacious and pleasant overall. The gaps between seats weren't cramped, so even with other customers around I didn't feel bothered, and everything felt neatly arranged. The space had enough breathing room that moving around wasn't awkward, and it was comfortable to sit for a long clinic session. Rather than the usual busy, cluttered feel of a hair salon, it had a clean, relaxed atmosphere that made it easy to stay comfortable. Overall the salon felt well-managed, so even on my first visit I could use it without any pressure.

How do the 5 steps of the inner clinic work?

The inner clinic I received at Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo consisted of 5 steps total. Designer Jisu sent me a step-by-step explanation beforehand, so here it is summarized.

  • STEP 1 — Infusing high-molecular keratin protein into damaged hair
  • STEP 2 — Nano steam and heat treatment to open the hair cuticle and aid absorption
  • STEP 3 — Replenishing CMC, protein, moisture, and lipids
  • STEP 4 — Filling in split and opened cuticles with protein
  • STEP 5 — Coating the hair surface to boost shine and hold

So that's the 5 steps total. -> They send you this kind of explanation! Thanks to that I could write a detailed post, which was really nice.

Heat treatment device being used during the inner clinic

The process itself was broken into several stages, so it felt fairly systematic. In the photo, this is the heat treatment step — the stage that opens the hair up so the nutrients absorb well. Step 2 is...

Applying clinic product during the inner clinic step

The one letdown: how the clinic product was applied

For my honest review of designer Jisu at Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo: they apply the treatment product and then spray mist. But from what I felt receiving it, the clinic product was applied a bit more lightly than I expected. In particular, the inner and back sections of my hair felt like they got a different amount compared to the front, which left me personally wishing it had been done a bit more thoroughly!! Is this how the clinic process normally goes, or was it just this time? 🫠 As a blogger, I'm not sure whether I should explain this as the norm or not...

Hair receiving the moisture mist step

The mist step takes 30 minutes — allow extra time

Next comes the mist step! It's the stage where moisture — or steam? — gets applied. This step took about 30 minutes, I think. That's pretty long, right? If you're getting the inner clinic at Biorn Hair Apgujeong, I'd recommend setting aside plenty of time. (When I asked designer Jisu at Biorn Hair, she said the total clinic time is about 1 hour 💗)

Salon seating area while waiting during the clinic

Oh, as you'd expect from a recommended Gangnam hair salon, Biorn Hair also has a wide range of drinks!

Wide selection of drinks and snacks at the salon

I got served an iced americano and some snacks, which I enjoyed.

Scalp massage in a private single room with a massage chair

Once the mist step was done, I was finally moved to a private single room for scalp massage and rinsing. It was a separate space, so I didn't have to worry about anyone around and could finish up quietly, which I liked. The scalp massage in particular was done very thoroughly and felt great. Overall the touch was gentle and friendly, so I could relax through the whole thing.

And here's another thing I loved — the chair is a massage chair haha. Sitting still getting a scalp massage while the chair itself also massages you was surprisingly great. My head felt refreshed and my body relaxed at the same time haha. The final rinse was comfortable too, so the finishing part of the clinic was satisfying.

Hair condition after the inner clinic, plus care tips

My review of designer Jisu at Biorn Hair Apgujeong: she's kind and explains everything thoroughly, so I'd recommend her!! For someone in my condition (lots of dyeing), she recommended doing the clinic once a week. Thanks to her I learned proper care tips too. I'll drop by for another clinic session whenever I get the chance ><

This is my hair after the treatment. What do you think, does it look good? Haha. I actually forgot to save the before photo and deleted it, so it's a bit disappointing that I can't compare 🥲

Hair looking calm and settled after the inner clinic
Softer hair texture after the clinic session

Still, after the treatment my hair was definitely softer than before, and felt calmer and more settled overall. That frizzy, flyaway feeling was reduced a bit too, and the texture felt noticeably softer to the touch. It might not show a huge difference in photos, but touching it directly, it definitely felt cared for! If I'd had a before photo, I could've shown you exactly how much it changed... next time I'll be sure to take one, ugh. I really recommend Biorn Hair as an Apgujeong hair salon 💗 and I highly recommend the clinic too 💗🫡
