I visited Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch inside Musinsa Mega Store in Seongsu. It's known as a gukbap (soup with rice) spot famous for its pork broth, clearly simmered at low temperature and high pressure. Right now it's running as a pop-up on the 4th floor!

Spicy gomtang set, 16,000 won: sharp broth that isn't harsh

What I ordered that day was the spicy gomtang set for ₩16,000 and the minari seaweed king mandu 3pcs for ₩9,000.

The spicy gomtang looked warming just to look at! The clear pork broth was mixed with a spicy seasoning, giving it a hot yet deep flavor.

Bowl of pork gomtang with spicy seasoning added

There was a generous amount of thin pork slices in the gomtang, which paired well with rice, and alternating between meat and broth, the bowl disappeared quickly. It wasn't aggressively spicy, more the kind of taste you'd crave when you want a warm, hot broth.

The side dishes were also clean and tasty

Minari and tot seaweed king mandu, 3 pcs for 9,000 won: how it differs from meat dumplings

The minari (water dropwort) and seaweed king mandu I ordered alongside was really delicious. True to being king mandu (dumplings), they were big, and with minari and seaweed inside they felt quite different from the meat mandu I usually eat! The combo with the gomtang broth was great too.

The dumpling skin was chewy and the filling was moist! The pickled peppers that came with the mandu were also spicy and delicious.
