On a bright, gorgeous weekend, I wanted a relaxing bit of healing along with a tasty brunch, so I headed to The Nillai, a huge and impressive Gimpo café with great vibes! ☕✨

Parking and first impressions at The Nillai in Yangchon, Gimpo

The Nillai is a large café that occupies the entire G-floor of a building at 80 Yangchonyeok-gil, Yangchon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do. The building itself is huge and stylish, and it comes with a spacious, comfortable parking area right in front, so whether you're visiting on a weekend or for a gathering, you can park with zero stress — a huge plus.

🌿 Countryside views through the windows, trendy interior inside

The Nillai uses the entire G-floor of the building (technically a basement level, but with a wide-open floor-to-ceiling view!), so the interior feels expansively spacious and comfortable. Leaning back into the plush sofa seats as warm sunlight pours deep into the space, the peaceful countryside scenery outside the window naturally puts you in a healing mood.

Are the media art room and pool photo zone good for family photos?

One side of the café in particular has a photo zone styled like a resort pool scene, along with a dazzling media art room where the background shifts mysteriously moment to moment! 🎥

Families visiting with kids will find it fascinating to look around, and with mirrors and pretty screen lighting scattered throughout, it's a perfect spot for standout photos or family portraits.

There's also a lively kids zone that's great for visiting with children, as well as a thoughtfully separated no-kids zone on one side for guests who want to chat quietly and intimately — so everyone can spend their time comfortably.

🍽️ Brunch from a chef who cooked at the 63 Building restaurant

This place is a brunch restaurant helmed by a chef who previously worked at a restaurant in the 63 Building, and a Gimpo spot with a resident professional barista — so expectations were high even before we arrived. The dishes we ordered this time completely exceeded those expectations! 😋

Salmon salad at The Nillai

Fresh, thick cuts of salmon were piled generously on top, mouthwatering just to look at. The refreshing yet clean dressing perked up the appetite, making it the perfect way to kick off brunch. It's hearty and healthy — anyone who loves salad will be thoroughly satisfied! 🥗

Basil tomato pasta at The Nillai

The fragrant, deep flavor of basil combined with tangy-sweet tomato for a wonderful harmony. It was addictive enough to draw an audible sigh of delight with the first bite — the kind of magic pasta that has you scraping up every last bit of sauce 🌿🍅

🥐 Milk stick from the bakery with a strawberry hibiscus tea

The bakery counter at the center of the café is stacked with about 20 different eye-catching breads and desserts — croissants, tarts, cakes and more. The savory, soft milk stick we picked was fantastic, pulling apart along its layers with a wonderful texture!

To go with it, we ordered an iced Americano with a rich, nutty appeal, and a strawberry hibiscus tea bursting with tangy sweetness.

Both the bitter yet clean Americano and the fragrant tea paired perfectly with the sweet bakery items and the excellent brunch dishes, so I couldn't put my spoon down until the very end. 🥤☕

The Nillai is a large Gimpo café where you can admire beautiful media art in a wide-open, comfortable space while enjoying great brunch and delicious bakery items from a chef formerly of the 63 Building — all at once! It's great for a date with a partner, and just as wonderful for a family outing with kids or parents in tow. I'd love to visit again.
