How do you all spend healing time with someone special on a quiet weekday lunch or lazy afternoon? Not long ago, my schedule lined up perfectly with my sister's on a weekday lunch, so we said, "Let's drive somewhere today — a big brunch café with a great view and food we know is actually good!" and happily drove out toward Yangchon Station in Gimpo.

The place that had my sister and me gasping over and over — with its high-level brunch menu cooked by a chef from the 63 Building, its stylish media art, and its wide-open outdoor terrace — was The Nillai, located at 80 Yangchonyeok-gil, G floor, Yangchon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The Nillai is a large brunch café in Gimpo located at 80 Yangchonyeok-gil, G floor, Yangchon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do. It has a spacious, roomy parking lot where even beginner drivers can park comfortably, and being near Yangchon Station on the Gimpo Gold Line, it's easy to reach whether you're driving or taking public transit.

When my sister and I arrived by car, what I liked most was the wonderfully wide parking space. True to its name as a large café, it had plenty of parking spots with a well-organized layout, so we pulled in without any parking stress at all.

We visited during weekday lunch hours, and with the warm sunlight settling in and the clean atmosphere right from the entrance, I felt good the moment I stepped in. The owner and staff greeted us warmly as soon as we walked in, and my sister and I happily found a seat.

Honest taste notes on The Nillai's rosé shrimp pasta and desserts

After we ordered, the buzzer went off, and my sister and I brought back the brunch spread we'd been looking forward to!

Rosé shrimp pasta (19,900 won)

This was the dish I was most excited about, since it's made by a chef from the 63 Building. The moment the plate was set down, a rich, savory rosé sauce aroma hit my nose. The sauce clung beautifully to the noodles, and the shrimp inside were so big and plump that every bite was a pleasure.

The tomato's tanginess and the cream's savoriness balanced each other without being overdone, so I scraped up the sauce to the very last spoonful without any heaviness. You could really taste the depth that comes from a hotel chef's skill running through the whole dish.

Blueberry yogurt smoothie (8,000 won) and iced Americano (6,000 won)

My sister's pick, the blueberry yogurt smoothie, wasn't artificially sweet — it had real blueberry tartness mixed with rich yogurt, perfect alongside brunch. My iced Americano had mild acidity but was heavy and savory, the ideal pairing to clean the palate after the pasta.

Chocolate financiers, pack of 2 (5,900 won)

After we'd mostly finished eating, the chocolate financiers we had with coffee exceeded expectations too. One bite was crisp outside and chewy inside, with a chocolate flavor that was just bittersweet enough for a clean finish.
