Why we drove out to The Nillai, a large café in Gimpo's Yangchon

The Nillai is a large media-art bakery café at G floor, 80 Yangchon-yeokgil, Yangchon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do. With the weather getting nicer lately, I've gotten hooked on driving around looking for good-vibe cafés.

This time I went out toward Gimpo and found a large café with both scale and things to look at, which made it a great pick for a date course!

Rather than a typical café where you just drink coffee and leave, this is a place where exploring the space itself is fun, so I wanted to introduce it to anyone looking for things to do in Gimpo. Especially these days there are so many large cafés — sometimes you visit and find the space is big but the seats are uncomfortable or the menu is disappointing. At The Nillai, though, it was nice to relax while enjoying both bakery items and drinks together.

The Nillai's media-art space: a lap around before sitting down

The Nillai uses media art throughout the space, so it was great for photos too. Above all, the moment I walked in, I could feel a mood clearly different from a regular café.

With such a wide space and plenty to see, I naturally ended up walking a lap around before even sitting down haha.

Because it uses media art, it's great for photos, and each area has a different mood, so it was fun just to look around.

So it felt less like a place you just go for coffee and more like a stop on a date or family outing itinerary! If you're looking for a large café in Gimpo, I think you'll really like that part too.

How far apart are the seats at The Nillai?

Even with a fair number of people around, The Nillai didn't feel too cramped, and it was comfortable to sit and talk for a while. When I go to a large café, I actually care quite a bit about how the seats are spaced.

It's fine for a group gathering, and it's also a relaxed vibe for a two-person date, so it comes to mind when I think of Gimpo date courses.

The Nillai bakery: how many kinds of bread?

The Nillai has a wide variety of breads prepared, so looking them over one by one, I found myself agonizing over what to pick. And of course, once you're at a café, the bakery is a must!

These days, even at large cafés, people tend to eat bread or dessert along with coffee rather than just coffee alone, and I think fans of bakery cafés would enjoy browsing at The Nillai.

It was nice to order bread along with a drink and take it slow, and since the space is so wide, staying a long time didn't feel stuffy at all.

At The Nillai I had the rosé shrimp pasta and a salmon salad (smoked salmon). I'd heard this place is said to be run by Chef 63, so I was curious about the food and bakery side even before visiting.

Rather than a place that only emphasizes scale or interior, I personally liked that you can also enjoy proper food here.

It could be a good option for anyone in the Gimpo area looking for a second stop after a meal, or for anyone who wants to spend leisurely time at a café eating bread and drinks.

There are plenty of spots worth photographing, so time flies when you visit for a date haha.

If you're usually into media art or unusual café interiors, this offers a different feel from a typical bakery café.

Is The Nillai a good Gimpo date course?

The Nillai is a large café in Gimpo's Yangchon with spacious rooms, bakery items and media art all in one place. At first I just thought of it as a big café, but once I actually visited, exploring the space was so fun that I ended up staying longer than expected.

There are so many pretty cafés in the Gimpo area these days that it's hard to decide where to go.

If you're looking for a place with wide space, bakery items and media art all together, it's worth a visit :) It suited dates, of course, but also gatherings with friends and family outings!
