Today I visited Easy White Bread, a well-known spot near Sinjung-dong Station. Easy White Bread believes in baking with good ingredients, using certified French butter and dairy cream and other premium raw materials to make bread you can enjoy without guilt — I heard it's known as a milk bread specialist. They say a good milk bread place makes bread that's delicious even without jam or toasting, so I went in with high expectations.

There's also a well-curated brewed coffee lineup, which seemed like it would pair nicely with the bread. On top of that you could add cream cheese, honey fig cream cheese, blueberry butter jam and other handmade jams and cream cheeses — this would work well as a light meal too.

Getting to taste freshly baked milk bread today made me think it'd make a great gift too. This is the one for Chuseok gifts this year!!!!!

And there were fruit sandos, which I love — melon, strawberry, and mango — plus not just small jars but large-size jam available for purchase too haha

At Easy White Bread they cut the milk bread to your preferred thickness: 1.5cm is the size best for spreading butter and jam, 2cm is said to be best for enjoying the bread's own flavor and texture, and 2.5cm is a thick cut good for toast or French toast. I couldn't resist this haha. Usually I only ever eat pre-sliced bread, so being able to choose my own thickness felt new and fascinating.

The cream castella bread was ₩2,800 per piece, individually wrapped, so it seemed perfect for enjoying at home with a cup of coffee, right? haha

Chestnut or cranberry? Choosing a loaf at Easy White Bread

When I visited, they had both chestnut milk bread and cranberry milk bread. I picked cranberry milk bread since it suited my taste better. The loaves lined up on the tray looked so mouthwatering haha

Along with the milk bread, olive milk bread, chestnut milk bread, and cranberry milk bread were the special menu items.

And with brewed coffee too, the milk bread plus coffee combo is the best, isn't it haha. My favorite used to be salt bread plus coffee, but now it's switched to milk bread plus coffee haha

The bread follows a same-day baked, same-day sold principle, and they say it tastes best when torn along the grain. Anything left over on the day can just be kept frozen and eaten later haha

How the cranberry milk bread tasted

This is the cranberry rye bread I ordered.

I also ordered a matcha drink to go with the bread 🍵💚 Matcha has that distinct bitter yet nutty flavor that goes well with sweet bread — after eating the cranberry milk bread, a sip of matcha left my mouth feeling refreshed and clean! Pairing a drink with the bread instead of just eating it plain made the whole experience feel more like a leisurely café visit 🥰

Easy White Bread has a variety of menu items beyond milk bread, like soboro chestnut rice cake milk bread, so I'd love to try other breads next time.
