Today I visited a legendary piemaek (pizza + beer) spot near Sadang and Isu Station where you can drink away your stress with really good food. The weather was cool, and on the way home from work all I could think about was salty, crispy New York-style pizza with a cold beer haha. Let me introduce Raymond Isu Branch, a place that captures American vibes perfectly.

What is Raymond Isu Branch like inside?

The interior of Raymond Isu Branch has that exotic feel of a back-alley pub in Manhattan, New York. The design is so cool — is this really Korea, haha?

I happened to arrive around 6:30, right as the sky was turning into sunset, so the atmosphere was amazing.

The neon signs paired with all the hip decor pieces really give off a great feeling.

Raymond's biggest signature is its overwhelmingly large New York-style slice pizza. It's much bigger than the slices you'd usually find at other pizza places, so you can order a few different slices instead of committing to a whole pie. And the variety is huge too.

There are classic pizza staples like pepperoni, cheese, and bacon Hawaiian, plus menu items you can only find at Raymond — mac & cheese, spicy fusilli, American bulbeok pizza, brown potato, and berry bulgogi crumble pizza.

And piemaek is great, but chimaek (chicken + beer) is also possible here! There are 6 kinds of chicken, plus spaghetti, tteokbokki, nachos, and other snacks that pair well with beer.

A craft beer lineup that makes the pizza shine even more!! This place isn't just serious about pizza — they're serious about beer too. Even if pizza isn't your thing, come just for the beer and a side dish, haha. It's genuinely a great beer spot!!!!

The self-serve bar at Raymond Isu Branch has crushed pepper, hot sauce, and tableware. Just grab whatever suits your taste.

And there are three kinds of water on offer!! I only tried one, but having that many water options prepared is such a thoughtful touch, haha.

Vienna lager and pilsner lager

Since this beer was meant to go with pizza, I ordered something heavy and lager-like. Vienna lager and pilsner lager!

Ah, craft draft beer never disappoints... I'd just worked out that day, so I gulped it down so fast, ugh. I got the pilsner lager in the bigger size, haha.

Brown potato pizza (8,900 won)

This pizza is the ultimate sweet-and-salty combo, with savory creamy potato and sweet crunchy Lotus biscuit crumble on top. My friend doesn't like sweet food so it wasn't for them, but I loved it!!! It's a distinctive pizza you can only find here, so since I'd never tried anything like it before, it felt extra fresh.

Spicy fusilli pizza (8,900 won)

This one is piled high with sweet-and-spicy seasoned fusilli pasta on top of the pizza. The chewy texture of the fusilli is fun to eat, and the subtle spiciness that creeps up cuts right through what could otherwise feel too greasy!!

Rosé tteokbokki (14,900 won)

I also ordered rosé tteokbokki as a side, and it was a total win, haha. It's soul food for us girls~ The spicy, thick rosé sauce soaks perfectly into the chewy wheat tteok (rice cake). The sauce itself isn't too greasy, and it pairs so well with everything else we ordered — I couldn't stop eating it. Best of all, I spotted glass noodles (danmyeon) inside and it was totally my thing haha!! The sauce was so good I even dipped the pizza crust in it.
