Hanpanjip

Hi everyone :) The holiday just started! Today I wanted some good meat, so I went to Hanpanjip's main branch, the Jinhae location, in the Seokdong entertainment district.

When you go out for Korean BBQ, someone usually has to keep grilling, which means they never really get to eat properly. But here, they grill everything you order in the kitchen and bring it out on one platter, so you can just eat comfortably.

Where is Hanpanjip in Jinhae, and what are the hours and parking?

Hanpanjip's main Jinhae branch is located in the Seokdong entertainment district. There's no dedicated parking, so we just parked on the roadside. Hours run from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM, which is nice since you can eat meat pretty late.

We booked through Naver Reservation, and our table was already set up when we arrived. Even though we came early, two tables were already occupied, and not long after we sat down, more customers kept coming in until seats filled up fast. A wait line formed soon after. I was glad we came early.

The 600g platter for 39,900 won, grilled in the kitchen

Hanpanjip's biggest feature is definitely that the meat comes already grilled!

Hanpanjip menu showing hanpan and dupan prices

Looking at the menu, the hanpan (one platter) is pork belly + pork neck + pork skin, 600g for 39,900 won, and the dupan (two platters) is 1kg for 63,000 won. At first I thought the price might be a bit high since they grill everything for you, but after eating it, the portion was pretty generous and the price wasn't as steep as I expected. Especially considering the effort of grilling it all, it felt like a pretty solid deal.

The meat comes out already grilled to perfection, so you just sit down and eat right away! No one has to keep flipping meat, and no need to worry about anything burning — it was so convenient. I think this is exactly why it's a great spot for girls to grab Korean BBQ together.

Table set with basic side dishes alongside the meat

What side dishes and steamed egg come with the platter?

There was a nice variety of side dishes to eat with the meat. I especially liked the white kimchi and the seasoned bean sprouts. Since the meat is on the fattier side, having crisp, clean side dishes in between worked really well.

Table with spicy radish salad and various sauces

A lot of Korean BBQ places serve muchae (spicy radish salad) as a basic side these days, and this place had it too, along with several sauces, so it was fun mixing and matching different combinations with the meat.

They also serve steamed egg (gyeranjjim) as a basic side, drizzled lightly with sesame oil, which made it nutty and soft. Eating a spoonful of steamed egg between bites of meat went down really well haha.

Pork skin fans: the deungkkeopdegi on Hanpanjip's platter

One menu item I personally loved was the deungkkeopdegi (pork back skin). I prefer plain pork skin over the seasoned kind, and this was exactly my style!

The skin was quite thick and chewy, with a great texture. The nicely browned parts were nutty with a chewy bite that really came through. Eating the skin along with the belly and neck meant more variety, so I never got tired of it partway through.

Sesame sauce and breadcrumbs: how to dip the pork

Among the sauces, there was a sesame sauce and breadcrumb combo, which was a bit different from typical Korean BBQ sauces and I found it fascinating.

Instead of just dipping the meat in salt, you can switch between different sauces, so you get to enjoy a variety of flavors throughout the whole platter.

Rock-paper-scissors at Hanpanjip: win a free bottle of soju

There's a rock-paper-scissors event too haha. A fun little event I noticed while looking at the menu! If you win at rock-paper-scissors, you get a free bottle of soju, apparently. You can try up to twice per table! We thought about trying it too, but I'm pretty bad at rock-paper-scissors so I just gave up haha. Felt like I'd lose immediately if I tried... If you're confident at rock-paper-scissors, it could be fun to give it a shot while eating.

Meat wraps made in each person's own style

Everyone has their own style when it comes to eating meat haha. My husband wrapped his ssam his way and I wrapped mine my way. Each of us added our favorite ingredients, but either way both were delicious haha.

Is Hanpanjip in Jinhae worth the price?

Above all, it was great that the meat was already grilled so we could just focus on eating. Overall there was such a variety to eat that even with just one platter, it never felt boring.

With pork belly, pork neck, and skin, plus a variety of side dishes, sauces, and steamed egg, before you know it you're full and satisfied.

And at 39,900 won for 600g, the portion was good, and considering they grill everything for you, the price felt quite reasonable. "It'll probably be expensive since it comes pre-grilled, right?" I thought — but it wasn't as pricey as expected. So between how easy it was to eat and the price, this stuck with me as a good-value Korean BBQ spot in Jinhae, Seokdong.

Seeing eclipse candy, mouthwash, and even Febreze set out at the counter made me think this place has a real eye for the little touches. For anyone looking for a Korean BBQ spot open late in Jinhae, Seokdong, who doesn't want to be bothered grilling, or just wants an easy meal with friends or sisters, Hanpanjip Jinhae was a solid choice.
