Haeundae pain au chocolat and egg tart to go: Low & Sweet Bakery

I had some errands to run around Haeri-dan-gil today, and once I was done I was craving coffee so badly haha. So I decided to stop by Low & Sweet Bakery, a Haeundae café I'd had my eye on for a while — it's famous as an egg tart spot near Haeundae Station too, so I had high expectations.

What Low & Sweet Bakery on Haeri-dan-gil looks like inside

The moment I arrived, the strongly European-feeling exterior caught my eye. It fit perfectly with Haeri-dan-gil's uniquely foreign atmosphere.

Walking inside, the strong smell of bread put me in a great mood haha. The staff were really kind about helping with the order, so I could pick comfortably.

The display case had egg tarts, madeleines, cookies, financiers and other baked goods lined up neatly.

What makes this café special is that they mix the dough from scratch and bake fresh every single morning.

Not too expensive, which made it easy to grab several at once.

How did the Low & Sweet Bakery egg tart taste?

I took a bite of the egg tart first, and the crisp outside with the soft inside texture really impressed me.

The filling was rich and nutty, so I understood right away why this place's egg tart is so famous. The lemon madeleine had a tangy-sweet lemon cream on top that melted softly in my mouth. The pain au chocolat had beautiful lamination and generous chocolate inside, so it felt like a satisfying meal on its own.

The iced americano used beans with a slight acidity, so paired with the pastries it felt clean rather than heavy. This good even as takeout!! I bet it'd taste even better sitting inside this pretty shop.

The lighting and sign near the entrance gave off a travel-abroad kind of feel, so it was really good for photos. The display case by the counter had such pretty colors too that I kept clicking the shutter.

There's a door leading outside to a terrace area, which I heard has a whole different vibe on a nice-weather day. I went in the morning, and the sunlight coming through the windows made the interior feel even brighter and cozier. I heard that in summer, cold iced drinks paired with the outdoor terrace are especially popular.

In fall, sitting by the window with bread and a warm drink seems like it'd be perfect. Next time I want to sit out on the terrace when it's a bit cooler and enjoy it at a leisurely pace. There was also a variety of merch displayed inside the shop. The 'Raw and Sweet' lettering was so pretty I almost bought it haha.

Low & Sweet Bakery is located at 1 Udong1-ro38beon-gagil, Haeundae-gu, Busan (it's easy to find since it's on the main street of Haeri-dan-gil). It's open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with last order at 7:30 PM. It's also walkable from Haeundae Station, so accessibility was really good. There are dedicated parking spaces in front of the café, and spots 41 and 42 are free to use.

There's also a nearby public parking lot, which is handy if there's no spot available right in front of the shop.

Where to go next around Haeri-dan-gil

Just walking slowly along Haeri-dan-gil after leaving the café makes for a great stroll on its own. There are rows of charming little shops and cafés nearby that are fun to browse. It's a route that really suits couples or friends walking along while enjoying bread and coffee to go.
