After eating around Haeundae, you naturally start looking for a café — but with so many cafés lining Haeridan-gil, picking one is oddly a whole task in itself. There are small independent cafés, aesthetic spaces, places famous for dessert, and everything in between. This time I was looking for somewhere I could sit comfortably and have dessert, and ended up at Geumsong Deokmi. When I choose a café, coffee matters, but so does whether the space feels cramped and whether the dessert lineup is decent. On that front, Geumsong Deokmi won me over the moment I walked in — it was bigger than I expected. I also ordered fig tiramisu and Oreo cheesecake that day, and both looked really good. If you're finishing a meal in Haeundae and want somewhere to sit and chat slowly while also getting solid dessert and atmosphere, this is worth noting down.

Where is Geumsong Deokmi? Second floor at the entrance to Haeridan-gil
Geumsong Deokmi sits right at the entrance to Haeridan-gil, so even first-time visitors shouldn't get too lost. It's on the 2nd floor rather than the ground floor, so check the sign in front of the building before heading up. The old brick building has a black sign reading 'CONCIERGE DEOKMI,' which gave it a certain atmosphere, and it captured that current Haeridan-gil vibe of repurposing older buildings well. It's also an easy stop if you're wandering around Haeundae Station or exploring Haeridan-gil.

Inside Geumsong Deokmi: seating, plus a gravel outdoor terrace
Once you go up to the 2nd floor, the space is much bigger than you'd expect. Personally, among the Haeundae Haeridan-gil cafés I've visited, this one felt like one of the larger ones. Round tables and group seating are spaced comfortably apart, and there are seats along the big windows too, so nothing felt cramped. Overall the space has a bright tone mixed with black furniture, giving it a clean but slightly upscale feel. Best of all, there's a separate outdoor seating area in back with tables and chairs set on a gravel floor — it looked really nice. The sun was pretty strong when I visited, so I sat inside, but on a cool evening, sitting outside with coffee and dessert while getting some air would be great too.

Geumsong Deokmi menu and prices
The menu has quite a range across coffee, non-coffee, and tea. Americano is ₩5,500, café latte ₩6,000, and the signature royal vanilla bean latte is ₩6,500. It was also fun that you can choose your coffee bean — seasonal fruity, nutty, or decaf. Beyond that, there's matcha latte, matcha choco latte, matcha strawberry latte, rose de nuage, fig ade, fig latte, and more, so there's plenty for non-coffee drinkers too. On one side, there's a neat bakery display model so you can see the desserts in person rather than ordering off a photo — helpful for judging actual size and shape.

The dessert and coffee order, all on one table
What I ordered that day was fig tiramisu, Oreo cheesecake, royal vanilla bean latte, and americano. Once it all arrived on the tray together, the colors alone looked really clean. Two drinks, a big slice of cheesecake, and a tiramisu piled with figs, all on a black tray against the bright table — it made for that classic aesthetic Haeridan-gil café spread. The fig tiramisu especially caught my eye first, with fresh figs packed densely on top of the clear cup, and the Oreo cheesecake photographed well too, with its black Oreo layer and pale cheese layer clearly separated. The plating overall was clean enough to make me feel like I'd come to the right dessert café.

Oreo cheesecake: rich and squarely sweet
The Oreo cheesecake felt like the classic dense cheesecake we all know, with the sweetness turned up a notch. The heavy, savory cheese flavor comes through first, then the Oreo layer on top brings a strong sweetness. It suits people who prefer their desserts sweeter and richer rather than plain cheesecake. Every bite mixed the sweetness of the Oreo with the dense texture of the cheese, giving it a strong presence, and the slice was big enough to be satisfying on its own.

Fig tiramisu: scooping through all three layers at once
Personally, the more fun dish that day was the fig tiramisu. Look closely and you'll see it's layered in about three tiers — instead of just eating the top layer, you get the real flavor by digging your spoon down and scooping through to the bottom in one go. When the soft cream, the base underneath, and the generous fresh figs on top all come together in one bite, the flavors connect far more naturally than eating each layer separately. And rather than a forced sugary sweetness, the fig's own gentle sweetness is the star, so it felt less heavy. The occasional crunch of fig seeds added a bit of texture too, making it more fun to eat than a plain smooth tiramisu. Personally, since I don't love overly sweet desserts, this one suited my taste more than the Oreo cheesecake.

Choosing your coffee beans: nutty vanilla latte, seasonal fruity americano
It was also nice being able to choose the coffee bean myself — I went with nutty for the royal vanilla bean latte and seasonal fruity for the americano. The royal vanilla bean latte, with the nutty bean's savory, heavy aroma plus the sweetness of vanilla, came out smooth and rich overall, and it paired well with the dessert. The americano with seasonal fruity beans, on the other hand, had a fresh acidity and a clean finish, which felt great for clearing the palate after the sweet dessert. It was interesting how the same café's drinks could feel so different depending on the bean you chose.
Went for the dessert, ended up loving the space too
Is Geumsong Deokmi worth a visit in Haeundae?
Geumsong Deokmi was a well-put-together Haeridan-gil café across the board — space, dessert, and drinks. The interior is spacious and the seating never felt cramped, making it good for a long chat, and the mood shifts nicely between the window seats and the outdoor terrace, so it also seems like a solid date spot in Haeundae. On a cool evening especially, sitting outside with coffee and dessert would probably feel even better. The desserts weren't just pretty either — the Oreo cheesecake delivered a rich, clearly sweet flavor, and the fig tiramisu was satisfying with its natural sweetness and distinct layered texture. On top of that, being able to pick your own bean added another layer of fun to choosing a drink. It's a solid pick if you want to unwind slowly after a meal in Haeundae, or want a good-atmosphere Haeridan-gil café for a date.
