Now that the weather's turned nice and cool for outings, I finally took a drive out to Songjeong after a long while. I visited Suwolgyeonghwa, one of the most famous cafés in Songjeong, Busan. It's always fully booked on weekends so I never made it before, but I finally got to go🤩

Where do you park at Suwolgyeonghwa?

The free parking lot on the 1st floor is a tight spot fitting only 6–8 cars in double parking, so a lot of people park at the paid Songjeong Blue Parking Lot right in front instead. There was plenty of space, so I parked comfortably.

The entrance is as pretty as its name, a space that really conveys traditional Korean beauty.

The 3rd floor Ritual of Suwolgyeonghwa is a tea class space that also operates as a café — you order on the 4th floor and can use the space there too.

On the main 4th floor, the ocean view of Songjeong through the wide picture windows is really beautiful. Competition for window seats was fierce so I just admired it from afar🥺

There's a brush pen and hanji (traditional Korean paper) guestbook that suits the tea house vibe, and stamping the seal was fun too haha

There was a lovely poem nearby too, which I peeked at — I think foreign tourists would really enjoy it.

Which quiet 3rd floor seat is best?

Since there was no seat on the 4th floor, we went down to the 3rd floor Ritual of Suwolgyeonghwa. It's quieter compared to the 4th floor, so I actually liked it more.

As soon as you walk in, the Songjeong sea through the picture window and the big tables with such an open feel are so relaxing — proper healing.

The main space with a view of the train tracks and Songjeong sea. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable, but the view was the best.

The room on the left had a lot of large tables good for families. With its wood tones, calm atmosphere, and comfortable, spacious layout, there were even guests who came with strollers and kids.

The right side is a floor-seating room. It's a bit uncomfortable to sit in, but the hanok (traditional Korean house) and wooden table combo gives off such comforting traditional Korean charm that it's popular with foreign tourists and anyone wanting to enjoy things quietly.

We debated between the different spaces but ended up back at the first seat. I just couldn't give up this view..🩵

Every table has train schedule info and a wifi QR code, so you don't even need to ask staff — it's convenient. Such a subtle but thoughtful touch⭐️

Sea plus train — isn't that pure romantic healing? It felt like being on a trip abroad, and waving at the people on the passing train was so cute.

Suwolgyeonghwa's menu and what we ordered

Suwolgyeonghwa, a café in Songjeong, Busan, has an appealing lineup of premium teas, coffee, traditional teas, tarak tea (milk tea), and desserts with distinctly Korean character.

We ordered the Dalbodeure box, American-style coffee, and the premium tea Melonmance.

Of all the hanok and tea cafés I've been to, Suwolgyeonghwa felt like the one that best balances broad appeal with genuine expression of Korean beauty. You can feel the care put into every single item on the menu🫢

The signature dessert: the Dalbodeure box

Suwolgyeonghwa's signature dessert, the Dalbodeure box. It's a dessert set made up of gamtae (sea mustard) myeongran financier, red bean ang-butter monaka, ganache monaka, black rice sul-bread, and an injeolmi (rice cake) skewer.

The taste of the oolong tea Melonmance

The oolong tea Melonmance has a musk melon fragrance. The melon aroma is subtle, and it's not sweet but a clean, refreshing tea — perfect for lifting your mood in this kind of summer heat.

Each drink came with a description card, so understanding the tea as I drank it made it taste even better. I went in with high expectations and still left more than satisfied with Suwolgyeonghwa, this Songjeong café in Busan — I'd love to come back again with my parents next time:)
