Weekend family lunch with kids: shrimp rosé pasta at Bueokgan Haeundae

In short

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a Western-style restaurant on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan, with baby chairs and kids' dishware. Visiting on a weekend with two sons, the writer ordered the couple's dish set (₩51,000) and added shrimp rosé pasta, working through pumpkin soup, salad, carbonara and pepperoni pizza. The shrimp weren't spicy and were generously sized, so the kids ate happily, making it a successful casual family outing.

Western-style table setting at Bueokgan Haeundae Branch

There are so many restaurants in Haeundae, but oddly few where you can comfortably eat out with kids as a family. My kids aren't babies anymore, but savoring pasta, pizza, and steak at a nice-atmosphere restaurant with them in tow is still tough, right?

Looking for somewhere comfortable to eat without being too formal or stiff, but still with good vibes — that's Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, a Western-style restaurant and Haeundae brunch spot known for its atmosphere. Our weekend family outing was a success!

To find this atmospheric Haeundae restaurant, head up the hill past Dongbaek Elementary School — Bueokgan is on the 2nd floor of the building in front of Hillstate Weave, at the old Sansu-tang spot. About 4 parking spots are available on the building's 1st floor, next to the entrance.

We visited on a weekend, and lots of people stopping by Mipo and Cheongsapo seemed to be eating here too. I was surprised at how many foreign visitors there were. The 1st floor is Bueokgan's Chinese restaurant, and the 2nd floor is the Bueokgan Western restaurant.

Why it's easy to bring kids here

I took this photo during break time after our meal — see how spacious and pleasant it is? Bueokgan is a great restaurant for Haeundae family dining, a Haeundae brunch spot that genuinely welcomes kids. Baby chairs and kids' dishware are all ready, and the vibe itself works well for gatherings with children. If you're looking for a restaurant in Haeundae for a brunch meetup or a kid's birthday party, I recommend Bueokgan, a YES Kids Zone.

Two different moods, left and right

The left and right sides of the dining room have different atmospheres from the entrance. The right side is a lighting showcase with a green color accent. The left side has window seats with great natural light, accented in yellow.

The whole feel is pretty exotic, like a European home-style restaurant — or is that just me, haha. The view through the windows and the open, airy feeling really add to it. One side has a classic, vintage-interior mood — quite a different atmosphere, right?

What's in the ₩51,000 couple's dish set

Bueokgan's couple's dish set costs ₩51,000 and includes soup, salad, pizza, pasta, and a drink. The set lineup alone is overwhelming. There's an extra charge depending on which menu items you pick within the set, so you choose what you want. We went with pumpkin soup, salad, carbonara, and pepperoni pizza. We also added shrimp rosé pasta. And then, drinks — done!

Pumpkin soup and salad

Bueokgan's pumpkin soup is made in-house with real pumpkin, with care. It's really smooth, so the kids loved it.

We also ordered the Bueokgan salad. The vegetables were fresh — a good appetizer.

Carbonara

A flavorful carbonara with mushrooms, bacon, and cream. The sauce is really savory, and the bacon is packed in generously. The more you eat, the more you want to slurp it up.

Adding shrimp rosé pasta

Shrimp rosé pasta — a creamy rosé pasta with great-texture shrimp and mushrooms as the highlight.

Big, plump shrimp piled on generously! Both my sons love shrimp, so they ate it right up. It wasn't spicy, so the kids had no trouble with it. I usually pass on family restaurants, but this Haeundae brunch spot, Bueokgan, was the best from the menu to the atmosphere!

Pepperoni pizza

A pizza loaded with pepperoni, with an appealingly salty kick. I always order pepperoni pizza whenever I get pizza, but pizza eaten at a restaurant just tastes different.

Reasonable prices and a comfortable atmosphere — this Haeundae brunch spot, Bueokgan, is one I'd recommend for a relaxed meal with kids.
