Gangnam café for Helsinki latte and matcha cookies: Mini Male

Last week, I tried a Helsinki latte for the first time at Mini Male's Seocho Gyodae Branch, and I kept thinking about it after just one taste, haha. Its smooth flavor was exactly my kind of thing, so I thought I had to have it again. As it happened, I had plans in Yeoksam-dong this time, so I stopped by the nearby Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch (미니말레 커피뢰스터 역삼점) for another Helsinki latte. It had only been a week since my last Mini Male visit, and I was curious about what the Yeoksam Branch would be like, haha.

It is a three-minute walk from Yeoksam Station Exit 6. The clean exterior, with its black sign, really catches your eye.

There is terrace seating out front, too. You can enjoy coffee in a more open setting with a different feel from indoors.

Once inside, there are no fewer than two kiosks by the entrance.

Fun desserts and bottled drinks to browse

There was a wide range of desserts at the front of the café. The tempting cakes and cookies were on display, so it seemed like a lovely place to have dessert with coffee, too.

They also had bottled matcha lattes and milk tea. I had the matcha latte last time, and the container is easy to carry around; the rich matcha was so delicious. Wine displayed below also caught my eye, and there was Dutch coffee ready for an easy grab-and-go drink.

There happened to be a PAYCO event going on, too, haha. You can participate once per account: ₩2,000 off when you spend ₩10,000 or more, or ₩1,000 off when you spend ₩5,000 or more.

Reusable cups with the Mini Male logo were for sale on one side. There were all kinds of things to browse around the café besides coffee, which made it fun to look around, haha.

Plenty of seating for solo visits or friends

There is plenty of seating, and the overall interior is modern and clean, giving it a comfortable atmosphere.

The tables are nicely spaced apart, so it seemed great for coming alone for coffee or for sitting with friends and chatting away.

They even have blankets ready for you—such a thoughtful touch! Hahaha.

Ordering a Helsinki latte and matcha cookie

We had a Helsinki latte for 5.2, a Cold Brew Place for 5.8, and two handmade matcha cookies for 4.5, and I was so curious about the Americano that I added four Dunkel Americanos for 3.6 each... haha. Haha.

As soon as the coffee arrived, I snapped a few photos, then quickly tried the Helsinki latte I had been waiting for, haha.

The rich, nutty taste of the Helsinki latte

The Helsinki latte definitely tastes different from a typical latte. From the first sip, the strong coffee flavor feels satisfyingly weighty, and its nutty notes make it incredibly rich.

With a usual latte, the smoothness and milk flavor come through first, but the Helsinki latte brings together deep coffee flavor and nuttiness for a much fuller impression, haha.

A moist, intensely matcha cookie

And the matcha cookie I had with the Helsinki latte! It was a life-changing cookie, hahaha. The moment I took a bite, that bold matcha aroma hit me, but it was not bitter.

It had a rich matcha flavor, while the cookie itself was soft and moist, so it was absolutely delicious. Anyone who likes matcha will enjoy it. I had the original cookie last time, but this one is so much better!!!!! Seriously, matcha lovers will love it.

I loved taking a sip of Helsinki latte followed by a bite of matcha cookie so much that I finished it in no time, haha. If I visit Mini Male again, I think I will definitely have this matcha cookie with a Helsinki latte again!!! Absolutely, haha.

The Helsinki latte and matcha cookie pairing was even better than I expected, and I wanted my friends to try it, too, haha. I was about to meet them anyway, so I got Americanos packed to go for them to taste.

The Balance Americano I ordered is said to be a cup where tropical-fruit acidity and the gentle sweetness of peach come together. They said the acidity came through nicely and the fresh aroma was really lovely.

I came back to Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch because I kept thinking about the Helsinki latte I had at the Seocho Gyodae Branch last time. Once again, its deep coffee flavor and nutty notes were so appealing, and having that truly delicious matcha cookie alongside it made for such a satisfying time, haha. I think I will come back again for the Helsinki latte and matcha cookie, haha.
