Gangnam café for laptop work and Helsinki latte: Mini Male

I’m in a phase where I decided to focus only on content through December. Filming and editing every day made me realize that where I work really matters. So lately, I’ve become someone who seeks out pretty cafés whenever I can. My productivity is definitely different when I work somewhere with a nice atmosphere instead of at home or in the office. Today, I’m sharing a café in Yeoksam-dong that I visited alone at weekday lunchtime.

Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch information

It’s Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch (미니말레 커피뢰스터 역삼점). From the glass-front entrance alone, it was totally my style! The layout lets light pour right in, so it is seriously bright and pretty during the day.. >< It is fairly open after about 3 p.m., but lunchtime is absolutely packed, so I try not to go then if I can help it.

There is a kiosk and dessert display case right by the entrance. The coffee bean bags and cakes were arranged so neatly, which helped someone as indecisive as me.

What did I order from the menu?

There was a Helsinki latte, matcha ice cream, and vanilla affogato. After debating, I decided on the Helsinki latte. I also ordered the milk tea frappe and a cookie. Ordering at the kiosk was quick and easy!!!

Friendly owner, and just the right focused-work atmosphere

I could see a staff member carefully making drinks behind the bar. Just seeing that made me look forward to the coffee somehow.

Everyone was doing their own thing, so it was perfect for quietly working without disturbing each other. This kind of atmosphere is secretly the most important thing when I choose a work café. Quiet, with everyone on their laptops.

The calm steel tones, people focusing on their own work, and the white noise of quiet conversations made it sooo easy to concentrate on work!

How was the Helsinki latte?

Wait, why is this so good???? A deep espresso aroma gently spreads over the soft milk—this is a life-changing latte.. I need this recipe. I sat down, opened my laptop, and properly got started on work.

This is how a total P type works. Hahahahahahaha. I list out what I need to do, set priorities, and just do it super fast lol. That has been my routine lately, and ideas for my next video just kept flowing here that day. ^^ Hehe! Working somewhere with a good atmosphere really does seem to make my brain work better???

Seats with trees outside the window

Another reason I love Mini Male! I looked up briefly while working, saw the lush green trees outside the window, and immediately felt so much calmer.

The seats deeper inside were spacious and comfortable too, so it did not feel stuffy even with lots of people around. The spots with the big windows were especially healing. Anyone working from home or living alone near Yeoksam Station, you really have to visit Mini Male during a non-busy time.. 😀 Love it.

Milk tea frappe and cookie recommendations

The milk tea frappe is proof that the black tea here is the real star. It is made with Assam black tea steeped for 36 hours, and the aroma was rich yet smooth, so I kept taking little sips.

The cookie was an oatmeal raisin cookie, perfectly crisp outside and soft inside. You really have to try the cookies here.

Overall

I seriously recommend this café both for anyone who wants to work quietly alone and for coffee lovers looking for a great cup. The owner was kind, the focused-work atmosphere was perfect, and I was happy with both the coffee and desserts. Yep yep... this laptop girl is 2,000% willing to return. If I need somewhere to work again, I think I will absolutely come here. Hehe
