Gangnam, Seoul café for pistachio tiramisu: Selected Nicks

I visited a café near Gangnam Station with a friend on a weekday afternoon. We wanted a quiet place to chat and recharge with something sweet, so we headed to the large Gangnam Station café, Selected Nicks (셀렉티드닉스). It is about a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gangnam Station, so it was wonderfully easy to get to.

This café is at 37 Teheran-ro 4-gil in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It is open from 8:00 AM until midnight on weekdays, and from 11:00 AM until 11:30 PM on weekends, making it a nice place to linger late into the day.

There is a mechanical parking lot by the rear entrance behind the building. However, SUVs, compact cars, and taller vehicles may be difficult to park, so I recommend using a nearby public parking lot.

The beautifully packaged breads were displayed so nicely that I thought they would make great gifts to take home, too.

After finishing our order on the first floor, we looked around the café to find a seat!

I was immediately surprised by the scale of this large Gangnam Station café: it uses the whole building, from basement level 1 to the eighth floor, plus a gorgeous rooftop. An elevator makes it very easy to move between every floor, too. :)

Basement level 1 and the second floor are styled as gallery-like spaces with wonderful artwork. It was such fun looking at the tasteful exhibition pieces that my time there felt even more enjoyable.

The third and eighth floors

The third and eighth floors seemed especially well suited to people who study or work at cafés, as well as students. With spacious tables and plenty of outlets, this large café near Gangnam Station had just the right atmosphere for quietly working on assignments or laptop tasks. Keep in mind that the eighth floor opens from 5:00 PM on weekdays!

The weekday-afternoon sunshine and breeze were so lovely that we took our drinks and dessert up to the rooftop. Sitting in the open rooftop space and looking out over the cityscape was instantly soothing, haha.

This is said to be a well-known tiramisu spot among cafés in Yeoksam, so we could not skip its signature dessert. We ordered the popular pistachio tiramisu with two refreshing iced Americanos.

The pistachio tiramisu was generously topped with nutty pistachios and cream. The mascarpone cream was wonderfully soft yet pleasantly chewy, and the combination of the moist cake layers and savory nuts was excellent.

The iced Americanos we had alongside it were not overly acidic, with a clean, nutty flavor that stood out. A bite of rich, sweet tiramisu followed by a sip of cold coffee refreshed my palate so nicely.

With its spacious, comfortable seating and a different atmosphere on every floor, this large café near Gangnam Station was very satisfying. If you are looking for a place to focus on assignments alongside delicious dessert, Selected Nicks is well worth a visit. It is somewhere I would like to return to whenever I am craving sweet tiramisu!
