A hearty spread of sotbap (hot-pot rice) and neatly made seasonal side dishes — Jogane Sotbap, a local restaurant near Agyangnu in Haman.
A local Korean restaurant found after a trip to Agyangnu

After walking through the autumn colors of Agyang Ecological Park and Agyangnu Pavilion, I headed to Jogane Sotbap, a local-approved Korean restaurant near Agyangnu in Haman, for a hearty meal.

With handmade seasonal side dishes, freshly cooked chewy sotbap, and even savory sungnyung, you get the feeling of being properly hosted — which is why both locals and travelers keep coming back.
What I ordered

1. Sotbap Set Menu (₩14,000 per person) A generous spread built around freshly cooked nutrient-rich sotbap, with jeyuk-bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork) as the main, golden grilled fish, and bubbling doenjang jjigae.

What stood out was the lineup of side dishes covering the whole table — plenty of seasonal cooking with a clear handmade touch.
Honest review, dish by dish
Chewy sotbap studded with black rice and beans

The moment you lift the wooden lid, white steam rises along with the smell of chewy rice studded with black rice and beans.
Scooping the rice into a bowl, each grain glistens as if coated, and the more you chew, the more the sweetness comes through.

After the rice is scooped out, hot water is poured into the pot and the lid closed; by the end of the meal, the nurungji sungnyung you open up is savory to the max and settles your stomach.

A side-dish lineup from buckwheat pancake to tofu kimchi and sliced pork
The side dishes are incredibly varied — standouts include buckwheat pancake and dubu-kimchi (tofu with kimchi), along with various namul (seasoned vegetables),

plus boiled pork slices served with spicy kimchi and japchae (glass noodles) — the chef's seasoning is right on point and full of savory depth.
Doenjang jjigae and grilled fish
The doenjang jjigae, brought out bubbling in a stone pot, is packed with tofu and zucchini, so the broth is deep without feeling heavy.

A spoonful in between other dishes wraps your mouth softly and balances out the whole spread nicely.

The fish is crisp outside, tender inside, with no fishy smell — clean and lightly salty. Flake off a big piece of the pale flesh onto warm rice and the mild savoriness fills your mouth.
Tender jeyuk-bokkeum

Served in an appetizing stone bowl, the jeyuk-bokkeum has tender meat that's never dry or tough.

Not overly spicy or sweet — one of the standout dishes.

Wrap a fresh lettuce leaf around a spoonful of freshly cooked sotbap, some jeyuk-bokkeum, and ssamjang (dipping sauce) for a big bite — it's rice-thief good.
The atmosphere inside

Step inside and a clean, spacious dining hall opens up. With plenty of tables, it's well suited to group gatherings or family meals.

Reserved-table signs on the wall hint at how busy it gets during the lunch peak, filled with local elders and office workers,

and there are kids' chairs on hand too, so families with young children can dine comfortably. A perfect stop before or after seeing Agyangnu and Agyang Ecological Park!
Parking lot location and support
Right in front of and beside the building is a large dedicated outdoor lot that can fit multiple cars or even a big bus, and diners can park for free with no extra restrictions.
Prices at a glance

There are only two menu options: the 'sotbap set' and the 'regular set.' Note that orders require a minimum of two people, and each person from elementary school age up must order their own set.

Checklist before you go
Q1. Is there usually a wait during the lunch peak?

Q2. How long does the sotbap take to come out?
A2. Since the rice is started right when you order, it takes about 15 minutes to cook. A variety of basic side dishes are set out first, though, so waiting while chatting doesn't feel boring.

A3. It's a close spot, about 8 minutes away by car, making it very convenient for lunch or dinner before or after a Haman trip.
