Gumi bakery café with melon cream bread and hot dogs: Otters
In short
Otters Jisan Saetgang Main Branch is a large bakery café in Gumi, Gyeongbuk, serving coffee, baked goods, and meal options. On a second visit with my husband, we had a Nutella cream doughnut, melon cream bread, a New York hot dog, and a butter cream latte, and loved the roomy parking and family facilities. Verdict: a lovely choice when you want both sweet desserts and something filling.

Visiting information for Otters Jisan Saetgang Main Branch in Gumi
Over the weekend, my husband and I visited The Otters Cafe in Gumi. It was our second visit! As you would expect from a large café in Gumi, it has a spacious parking lot and delicious bread, so it is one of those cafés that stays on my mind~
Hours are 11:00–22:00.

With such a roomy parking area, there is no need to worry about parking. I think that is one of Otters Cafe's biggest perks~ There is even a cute photo spot, haha.

What are the interior and family facilities like?
The first thing that caught my eye when I entered was the overall interior. It was clean without feeling too cold, making it comfortable to linger in, and the space was styled so tastefully that it was fun to look around every corner of the café.
There is a Kodak instant-photo kiosk inside the café, haha. It costs extra, but I think it would be a fun way to make memories if you come with children. If you buy doughnuts at Otters Cafe, they pack them in a pretty box. It would be great for giving as a gift, too!!!
Otters even has a nursing room and high chairs. Isn't that kind of thoughtful consideration just wonderful? We will definitely come back with our future little one too~

There is also spacious group seating on the second floor~~

Choosing baked goods and doughnuts
There are lots of breads made in-house, plus heaps of their signature doughnuts. There were so many choices that I spent ages deciding ㅠㅠ

There is even a microwave and oven available. Please be sure to warm up the salt bread and hot dog items~~

How the Nutella cream doughnut and melon cream bread tasted
The first menu item I reached for that day was the Nutella cream doughnut! The doughnut's fluffy, pleasantly chewy texture was paired with sweet Nutella cream, making it perfect with coffee~~

One bite and the sweetness of the cream really comes through, so I think dessert lovers would enjoy it!!! It was especially nice with an Americano, which balanced out the sweetness.

It had been such a long time since I last had melon bread. Otters' melon cream bread was exactly my taste. It was filled with cream, not overly sweet, with a gentle melon aroma~~ The cream nestled in the soft bread went beautifully with melon's characteristic sweet, fragrant flavor, so it was easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. While the Nutella cream doughnut is richer and sweeter, the melon cream bread feels softer and fresher, so I would recommend ordering both and alternating between them.

The New York hot dog and coffee pairing
And the surprisingly satisfying item was the New York hot dog. Sometimes desserts alone at a café can feel a little lacking, so I loved that there was something you could enjoy as a simple meal or brunch. The bread-and-sausage combination was filling, so I think it would suit anyone who wants more than just coffee and dessert~

For drinks, we ordered a butter cream latte and an Americano. True to its name, the butter cream latte had a smooth, sweet creamy flavor that paired especially well with dessert. The cream's soft texture and coffee's pleasantly bitter flavor came through together, so I would recommend it to anyone who likes sweet coffee. The Americano, on the other hand, was clean and easy to drink, and it felt like it refreshed my palate between bites of the sweet doughnut and cream bread.

Overall, what I loved about The Otters Cafe was its lovely interior and the fact that you can enjoy not only coffee, but also a varied selection of baked goods and meal options. From sweet desserts and filling food to classic coffee, there are so many choices that picking a menu would be fun no matter who you visit with. On my next visit, I want to try the other bakery items one by one too :)
