Inside Kkomak Manse just after 1pm on a weekday, and the self-bar
Stepping inside, I saw a pleasant, clean dining hall. Even though I visited past the lunch peak, after 1pm, it was still bustling with customers — proof this really is a proper Pyeongtaek restaurant!
The interior is very spacious, with roomy tables and even group seating well set up, so it looks like a great spot for group gatherings too.

In one corner of the restaurant, the self-bar has a variety of side dishes along with sesame oil, vinegar-chili sauce, salt, chili powder, and other seasonings, tableware, and even unlimited rice refills!

Not only a baby chair, but even dedicated baby utensils, and a microwave to heat up baby food! This really is the perfect place for a family meal with kids 👍

What is on the Kkomak Manse menu, and what the family set includes

Let's take a look at the menu board at Kkomak Manse Pyeongtaek Manse-ro Branch. From cockle bibimbap to seasoned cockles (manse yangnyeom kkomak) and cockle pancake! There were 2-person sets, family sets, signature sets, and full-spread sets, really diverse and tailored to different group sizes and tastes.

Kkomak Manse Pyeongtaek Manse-ro Branch, famous as a Pyeongtaek restaurant, uses fresh cockles from Beolgyo, sourced same-day and shipped direct from the region — a whopping 50 tons a year!
Fresh cockles straight from Beolgyo, South Jeolla — just hearing that raised my expectations before I even took a bite 👍 To try this precious fresh cockle in various forms, we ordered the family set. *Family set: seasoned cockles (manse yangnyeom kkomak, medium) + cockle pancake 3P + cockle bibimbap x1
How the Kkomak Manse family set tasted

As soon as it landed on the table, you could feel the fresh Beolgyo cockle set — the fish cake soup came included as a base :) You could see the subtle sea scent and freshness at a glance, right?

Manse seasoned cockles (manse yangnyeom kkomak)
First I tried the seasoned cockles. True to being sourced direct from the region and same-day, each cockle had noticeably distinct freshness. The generous flying fish roe piled on top also felt like a generous serving.
Even though it's not quite peak season yet, the cockles were pretty plump, don't you think?
Picking up a piece of cockle meat with chopsticks, I couldn't help but admire the distinct texture that bursts in your mouth and the deep flavor as I chewed.

Wrapping a plump cockle in dried seaweed with flying fish roe for one bite! My mouth filled with a salty sea aroma.
The cockles were soft yet chewy without being tough, and the popping texture of the flying fish roe made every bite fun.

Wrapped in fragrant perilla leaves, it was delicious too.

The seasoning wasn't too strong or overly spicy, letting the natural savoriness of the cockles shine through — just laid over rice, it's honestly a total rice thief.

Cockle bibimbap (rice mixed with cockles)
Cockle bibimbap loaded with bean sprouts, perilla leaves, seaweed flakes, flying fish roe, and plenty of cockles. Mixing it up and taking a big bite, the crunch of fresh vegetables, the chewiness of the cockles, and the secret sauce came together perfectly!

Cockle pancake (kkomak jeon)
The cockle pancake was also a special treat among specialties. Freshly pan-fried to a golden brown, it was the textbook definition of crispy outside, moist inside 👍

The big, plump Beolgyo fresh cockles studded throughout the pancake had a springy, satisfying crunch, and with every chew the pancake's clean, savory flavor spread through my mouth.

How about instant coffee mix or plum tea for dessert after the meal? There's also sweet yuga candy set out, so be sure to grab some~
