I loved HEOD Yeonnam so much that I visited often, so I was absolutely delighted to hear that HEOD Gongdeok had newly opened and went right away :) It’s a place I really love for French toast! 🤍

At first, since the location was listed as Gongdeok, I wondered if it would be near Gongdeok Station! But when I actually went, it was closer to Daheung Station. For parking, you’ll need to use a nearby public parking lot.

It’s right in front of the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, so it’s perfect for a light stroll after eating. I made a reservation for the 11 a.m. opening time! Since I arrived right when it opened, there were hardly any people at first—but by around noon, the seats were nearly full before I knew it 👀

No wonder it’s so popular...! If you’d like a quieter visit, I recommend arriving around opening time :)

There was a nice variety of seating, from window seats and tables for two to larger-group seating! There are cozy spots for two as well as tables for groups, so it seems great not only for dates but also for get-togethers with friends :)

I sat by the window, and the atmosphere was lovely—it was pretty for photos too 🤍 However, the window area had some bugs and was a little dirty in spots, which was a bit disappointing ㅠㅠ

Vanilla French toast and lobster pasta

My absolute favorite menu item at HEOD! 🤍 I ordered the vanilla French toast. The portion is generous for the price, so it’s great value—and if you come here, you absolutely, absolutely have to try the vanilla French toast!

When it first came out, there was hardly any whipped cream, so I was a little taken aback...! But did you know HEOD offers unlimited whipped cream? 👀 I asked a staff member for a little more, and they immediately brought over a generous amount!

Extra whipped cream for French toast

Haha, that really is a ton of whipped cream, right? 🤍 French toast is definitely best piled high with whipped cream...! I’ve tried French toast at many places, but personally, I think this is the best. The outside is beautifully golden, while the inside is incredibly moist and soft—the bread just melts...🥹

The bisque lobster pasta was also seriously delicious! 🦞🍝 It was savory with the rich umami of the bisque sauce, and had a slight spicy finish, so it didn’t feel heavy. My friend said it was delicious as soon as they tried it—we were both so happy with this dish!

Since the French toast is on the sweet side, having bites of pasta in between made for the perfect sweet-savory combination :) And the portions here are really huge...! Even with just two dishes between two people, you can leave truly full. Even when I order two dishes with my boyfriend, we always have leftovers..ㅠ

From sweet French toast to filling pasta, the portions were generous and everything was delicious, so I left very satisfied :) It’s especially nice being right in front of the Gyeongui Line Forest Park—you can have a delicious brunch and then take a walk, so I recommend it as a Gongdeok date course too!
