On a weekend evening, I was looking here and there because I wanted sushi, then heard about Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch (강한초밥 천안불당점), a delicious and good-value sushi spot in Buldang-dong, so I went to try it.

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch has no break time, so it is easy to visit anytime during business hours. It is also nice for a solo meal, whether lunch or dinner. I heard Monday used to be its regular closing day, but that changed recently, so it is now open as usual every Monday!

The table drawer held neatly organized tableware. Paper cups, spoons, chopsticks, and sauce containers were all inside, making everything easy to use.

The signature set menus at Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch are Ganghan Sushi 12 pieces (₩14,000), Ganghan Special Sushi 12 pieces (₩17,000), and Omakase Sushi 12 pieces (₩23,000).

There are also fresh salmon sushi, tuna sushi, extra-large flounder sushi, a whole freshwater eel rice bowl, a fresh salmon-loaded rice bowl, house-made pork cutlet, and so much more. Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch really has a wide-ranging menu.

What comes with a sushi order

When you order sushi at Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch, udon, miso soup, and a seafood croquette come as standard!

The seafood croquette was piping hot, crisp, and delicious, and it paired perfectly with the salad underneath!

The udon, loaded with fried tofu, was more substantial than expected, and the miso soup was the perfect match for sushi!

Then the sushi arrived quickly! We ordered Ganghan Special Sushi 12 pieces and Ganghan Sushi 12 pieces. The differences seemed to be ankimo (monkfish liver), tuna belly, and clam meat?

A certified Buldang-dong sushi gem!

It was such a delicious Buldang-dong sushi spot that I wondered why I had only just discovered Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch.

First of all, the assortment was so well put together, and the quality of the fish was excellent! Every slice was thick, the amount of rice was just right, and I kept thinking, this level of sushi at this price is incredible value, isn't it?

I highly recommend it if you are looking for a great lunch spot in Buldang-dong, and Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is also a lovely place to visit when you want sushi on your own.

There was tuna sushi, soy-marinated shrimp, flounder, fried tofu, egg, and more. The tuna belly sushi melted in my mouth, and while ankimo sushi can taste fishy at some places, Ganghan Sushi's was so rich and delicious that I wanted another piece! The salmon, flounder, clam, seaweed shrimp, and every other piece were all so, so good! Definitely a Buldang-dong sushi gem!

What about visiting with children or by car?

There were thoughtfully placed Polo candies on the table for freshening up after the meal, and high chairs are available too, so Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is a nice place to bring young children.

It was busy, so I could not properly photograph the interior, but there seemed to be around six or seven tables. Even though we went at an in-between hour, there were quite a lot of people!

Self-parking is available, and the parking lot is spacious, making Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch convenient to visit by car.

From the generous standard items like seafood croquettes and udon to the sushi assortment and fish quality, Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch was delicious all around. I could not believe this much came at this price—it was great value, and I left so full! (And the staff were so kind too ✨)
