I was looking for a filling restaurant near Seooreung with a wide menu, and ended up at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. I usually love Chinese food, so I'd been looking for a place where I could try jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), fried rice, and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) all together — and this time I really wanted the fun of picking several dishes and sharing them around.

Walking in, the exterior already felt clean, and the inside was modern and tidy, making it comfortable to sit and eat. If you're looking for somewhere to eat around Seooreung, the range of menu options here felt like a real plus.

Stepping into the entrance of Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch, the overall clean, modern vibe caught my eye first. The tables and layout were well organized, so there was no cramped feeling while eating, and it seemed like a good spot to visit with family or to relax with friends.

The staff were friendly too, so even as a first-time visitor I could order without any pressure. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, the whole first impression was satisfying.

Chewy sticky rice tangsuyuk

First we ordered the small size of sticky rice tangsuyuk. The outside was crispy while the inside stayed chewy, so it got more fun the more I chewed. The sweet sauce made it easy to keep reaching for another piece without feeling heavy.

The distinctive chewiness of the sticky rice really came through, and it paired nicely alongside the jjamppong. Being the small size, it was just the right amount to share when ordering several dishes together, and it stayed warm and enjoyable from first bite to last. Alternating a spoonful of jjamppong with a bite of the sweet tangsuyuk, the two very different flavors worked really well together.

Jjamppongbap packed with ingredients

The dish I was most looking forward to at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch was the jjamppongbap (jjamppong over rice). One spoonful of the broth alone had that deep savory taste, and the spiciness combined with a variety of ingredients gave it real depth of flavor.

Best of all, it wasn't a broth-heavy style — it was loaded with ingredients, so there was fun in picking out different bits of food throughout the bowl. Eating the rice together with the broth added even more heartiness, and the spicy kick naturally woke up my appetite.

If you like a rich, savory jjamppong broth, this one should be very satisfying. It's also a great pick for anyone searching out Seooreung restaurants who cares a lot about a good soup.

Savory crab fried rice

The crab fried rice had grains fried up light and fluffy, with a subtle savory aroma. Rather than a strong flavor, it let the plain, savory nature of fried rice shine through, which made it a great pairing with the jjamppong.

With the crab flavor woven through the well-fried rice, I kept reaching for another spoonful without feeling weighed down. Adding a bit of the jjamppong broth on top gave it yet another flavor to enjoy, and it made me glad I'd ordered a variety of dishes. When you think of a jjamppong restaurant, it's easy to only picture the jjamppong itself, so being able to enjoy the fried rice too was a nice bonus.

Mandu with a hint of jjamppong flavor

We also ordered the jjamppong mandu (dumplings). Biting in, that distinct jjamppong flavor came through, making this feel like a dish that captures the charm of Chinese food in a different way, true to its name. The balance between the wrapper and the filling was good, and it let me enjoy the jjamppong flavor in a way completely different from the jjamppongbap.

Among the several dishes, it was great for picking up one at a time in between bites, and with the tangsuyuk and fried rice all laid out together, the table felt truly full. A great combo for a day when you want to enjoy several dishes all at once.

With sweet, chewy tangsuyuk, spicy savory jjamppongbap, savory crab fried rice, and mandu carrying jjamppong flavor all together, there was real fun in switching between them depending on my mood.

Compared to eating just one dish, mixing in different flavors made the meal feel so much more abundant. If you're searching for restaurants in Goyang and trying to decide where to take family or friends, this kind of menu spread makes the choice easy.

A place I'd like to visit again

After finishing the meal, what stayed with me wasn't just the taste of the food but the modern atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendly service from the staff. The sticky rice tangsuyuk was chewy and sweet, and the jjamppongbap was packed with ingredients and full of savory depth.

The crab fried rice was fried up nice and savory, and the jjamppong mandu delivered a distinctive twist on jjamppong flavor. If you love a variety of Chinese dishes, I'd recommend jotting this down as a jjamppong spot and stopping by at least once. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, it was an all-around satisfying meal.
